Its not as simple as Chicago vs. New York because I like both.  Its not as simple as money because Chicago's COL is lower and transportation home would be cheaper.  DePaul has a stronger program specifically for IP, but SHU's facilities are nicer and faculty/staff were much more enthusiastic and cordial.

Choosing the Right Law School / OCI #'s = Job #'s???

Part of my evaluative process has been looking at the number of OCI employers and the number of OCI employers who have an IP specialty.  (Basically counting the number that NALP comes up with.)  Do you think this is a valid way to evaluate the career prospects of a potential law school?  I'm talking about T2 schools, not T14.  It seems intuitive to me that if they're recruiting on campus its because they have an interest in hiring so ... Any thoughts?

Anyone else think they ditched the t-shirt program?  Maybe its too early to tell.  Also, have they tightened their awarding of scholarships or am I just imagining things?

Just kidding.  I have a fairly well developed PS that needs some fresh eyes and new perspective.

Not admitted, but wanted to know if anyone had meaningful experience with this program?  I know that they over filled once and weren't able to place everyone, but I think they've reduced the size to fix that problem.  Any experience would be great!

Law School Admissions / Transcript Correction Problems
« on: October 10, 2007, 08:27:09 AM »
This might be an original problem.

I sent a request to a community college I went to during high school to send my transcript to LSAC.  When it gets there to my surprise there is an F for a class I don't recall taking (or paying for!)  So I call the college, get it worked out and they promise to send an updated transcript.  Weeks go by and I see nothing update on LSDAS.  Pissed, I send a pre-stamped, pre-addressed priority mail envelope inside another priority mail envelope to them with another check and another request for my transcript (thinking they didn't get it to LSAC.)  More time passes and nothing.  I decide to call LSAC.

Apparently they did get the update, but it's not showing online.  The guy told me not to worry about it, that my file shows the updated information... but I'm still a little anxious about the fact that I can't see it.  Any one have an experience like this?

Anyone else attend this?  I thought the facilities were very nice, the staff very friendly, and the event generally well put together.  My impression of C-K went up a great deal.
