General Board / Anyone familiar with the Post Properties in Atlanta?
« on: March 21, 2006, 04:44:33 PM »
Sorry for the random post, but I thought someone might be able to help...  I'm living in Atlanta for the summer and I've narrowed the apartment hunt down to Post Lindbergh or Post Collier Hills.  I'm not from there and will not be able to make it down to check out the apartments before signing a lease.  Is anyone familiar with either of these properties?  If so, any advice would be so much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

General Board / Job Search
« on: February 17, 2006, 06:05:35 PM »
I realize there is a seperate employment board, but it doesn't appear to be as heavily frequented.

Does anyone know of any internet sites that have listings for legal internships?  I realize it is a little late in the game, but I've yet to find something and would really like to be in Atlanta.  I've applied to all of the firms in NALP, but nothing has come of it... does anyone know of a site that has job postings?

Thanks so much.

General Board / Note taking software
« on: July 18, 2005, 12:50:01 PM »
Ok, I'm getting ready to begin law school in the fall.  I've been looking at these note taking programs, but they seem to have mixed reviews.  I've read through all the previous posts, but was hoping for a general consensus.  To me, it looks that flashlaw might be my best option.  But, I was hoping a poll might shed some light!  Thanks:)

General Board / Law school dress atire
« on: July 06, 2005, 04:24:52 PM »
Ok, ok, I know this is sort of a ridiculous question, but I'm wondering what the typical dress is for a day at school.  I'm getting ready to do a little school shopping (yes, I do realize I sound like I'm in middle school, but I need a few new clothes), and am wondering what people wear to class.  Is it like undergrad where people just throw on ratty jeans and a t-shirt, or do people look a little more presentable (kackis, slacks, polos, button downs, etc)?  Will there be days that we are expected to dress up?

Also, I'd like to buy a couple suits.  How often will we need business suits?  Would 2-3 be enough for school, or will we be wearing suits fairly often??

Thanks in advance!

General Board / Undergrad needing advice, ok to take lsat in Dec.?
« on: October 03, 2004, 11:57:10 PM »
Hello everyone.  I'm a regular poster on the Pre-law board, but thought the experienced students might be able to help with this:)  I am a senior at KU with a 3.87 gpa and psych and soc major.  I had been practicing with lsats around 170 and 171 for the past month.  However, I screwed up on Sat.  It really, really sucks.  My top schools are UT, Georgetown, Duke, and Virginia.  With the lsat score I would receive, there is no way I could make it to one of those schools.  So, I am thinking of canceling and retaking in Dec.  My score will not be available until Jan. 4th.  I can have all of my apps ready besides that.

However, I am worried that applying that late will really hurt me.  I have heard that some schools might have as much as 75% of their class chosen by then.  I was wondering if anyone had any insight on this.  Any advice would really, really help.  I am so worried that I won't be able to get into those schools applying so late.  I will be focusing on the lsat for the next 2 months and hope to be able to push my average up to the mid 170s, but everyone seems to score a little lower on the real thing.

Please help:)  And thanks in advance.

Book sales, auctions, trades, etc. / powerscore weekend coursebook
« on: July 12, 2005, 04:01:31 PM »
powerscore weekend coursebook for sale.  this book covers everything in the full length coursebooks (i had both), but has fewer practice examples.  powerscore's material is the best i found, it will help you to do very well on the lsat.

the book includes 211 pages of lessons with examples.  19 of the 211 pages have light pencil writing, that will erase completely (though you may still be able to see a slight pencil outline, but it shouldn't be noticable without looking for it).  the book also includes over 300 pages of lsats: 8 full-length previously adminstered lsats (with 5 sections instead of 4).

please email me at katiemanley01@hotmail.com with offer.  thanks!
