General Board / Tips for Final Exams (Torts)
« on: November 21, 2007, 09:42:22 PM »
Does anyone have any tips for taking a Torts Exam? I took a couple of practice exams and realized that time is VERY limited. I race through the exam to include all my thoughts (whatever I think the prof is looking for). Sometimes I feel like I have to exclude some info.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to effectively tackle the Torts Exam?

Thanks in advance!

General Board / Summer Jobs
« on: November 12, 2007, 09:11:22 PM »
I'm currently a 1L. I was just wondering when to start, if its not already too late, to look for a summer job. I most likely want to work at a firm where I can get experience that will look good on my resume. I also want it to be paid.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

General Board / Benefit of Making Outlines?
« on: November 11, 2007, 09:58:10 PM »
I was just wondering what the benefits of outlining are?? I find it useful for torts, but with regard to civ pro and K I find supplementary outlines sufficient. They organize the material well. I've written outlines for midterms and didn't find writing them so useful. I feel as though my time could have been spent better preparing for the tests. I don't glean any extra knowledge by writing stuff out. Plus, I can always look at upper classman.

So, what are the benefits of making your own outline???????
Any thoughts?

THANKS!!

I looked up on the school's website what books each professor requires. However, I don't know if I should get them now or wait till classes start. In undergrad I ALWAYS waited until classes started because many professors that stated to buy certain books never used them. I was just wondering if it MIGHT be the same in law school. Or if the professor ordered those books he will def. use them???????

So, get the books now or wait till classes start? Thanks everyone!
