I don't know of anyone else that has been deferred from Wayne...anyone out there know someone (or is someone) who has? I am the only one on LSN, not that it has a huge data set for Wayne, but I also haven't met anyone else who was deferred. I have been placed "within the group of applicants it will continue to consider for admission to Law School fo Fall 2005. The committee has decided, however, to defer a final decision on your application, and others like yours, in order to review all such applications at one time". We expect to be able to give you a final decision no later than April 15, 2005.

I am not sure what I am going to do as of right now because I am also considering a job as a legal assistant at Skadden Arps in Washington DC. I should hear from them this week if I am being given an offer (I have a good feeling about it).

I welcome any info (if you know of any other Wayne defferals) or school (if its an option) or job (great expereince, resume builder...) THANKS!

Choosing the Right Law School / Couldn't wait any longer...

So today is two days shy of 8 weeks since my application has been complete at Wayne State, and I couldn't take the wait any longer so I finally called the admissions office. The lady on the phone said that she saw my application go in to the committee today and then put me on hold briefly. She came back to say that I should expect to see a decision within the next week. I couldn't read her at all.  ??? I am really nervous, has anyone had any similiar experiences with Wayne State or any other schools? The data set on LSN is so small for Wayne State that it is difficult to make any inferences about any possible trends in the distribution/timeline of acceptances and defferals.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Dreaming about Acceptances...

So last night I had a dream that I received an acceptance letter from my top choice. The dream was so realistic that when I woke up, I still thought I had for a good 3 minutes, until I realized it was all a dream. What a bummer of a way to start the week...

Law School Admissions / Updating Transcripts, Help!
« on: December 29, 2004, 12:56:07 PM »
Are you guys sending in your updated transcripts to LSAC? How do you go about doing that, same as the first time? I didn't see the option for it on the website...
For the schools that already requested my report I know I could just send my grades straight to the school, but for the schools that haven't requested the report yet, I'd like to have my transcripts updated on the website.

Hello everyone! December retake didn't go as I had planned.  :( I am still hoping to get in locally at Wayne State University, but I would like to hear anyone's opinion about my chances at the following TTT's
And also if you had to pick one, which one you would choose, and why.
My heart is kinda set on U of Maine. FYI- I have no qualms about permanently relocating away from Detroit...

Choosing the Right Law School / Suggestions please
« on: December 08, 2004, 09:32:07 AM »
Hey does anyone have any suggestions where I should apply? I am praying to get in locally(Detroit) at Wayne State University, but if I don't I would be very interested in going somewhere on the East Coast. I really love Boston, Conn seems nice and a few other areas. LSAC GPA=3.68, LSAT=151, (Dec retake pending) non-URM, good work experience. Where might I be competitive that I am not considering? I've looked at various calculators, but I would like personal reccomendations about the schools (I know nothing about them). Thanks

Please leave your email if you would be willing to read my PS opener. I am worried that it may be too "cute", but I think that it is very unique. Thanks!

Due to my subpar LSAT, I am only applying to Wayne State University at this time, and will be retaking the LSAT in Dec.

Choosing the Right Law School / Wayne State University

if you have any experience with this law school or know anyone that does, could you please share your stories/info with me. Now that I have my subpar LSAT score (151), I am ditching my out of state apps, and going to cross my fingers and hope they accept me. My LSAC gpa is 3.68, good LORs, and I have good work experience at a top 5 firm in Detroit. I have labored over and chaishu, so I know what the numbers say. I will probably take the test again in December, because I know I can do better, but I would great appreciate any info that anyone has about WSU's admissions criteria/considerations.

Nevermind, I removed this post sorry. i guess maybe desmo is right. message me if you're interested.

Studying for the LSAT / Needy December Test Takers
« on: October 04, 2004, 02:54:26 PM »
Please post here or contact me if you are interested in inheriting some LSAT study materials, I have a few different guides available. All are purchased texts, etc. NOT TESTMASTERS GUIDES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. All you have to do is pay the shipping, they are free as they are no use to me now that I have taken the LSAT. Needy students only please, I put out like $150 for the stuff myself. First come, first serve of course.
