« on: November 24, 2004, 02:30:36 AM »
In my diversity statement, it was suppose to say the following:

"My mother did not want our financial situation to interfere with my academics..."

INSTEAD, i turned in this:

""My mother did want our financial situation to interfere with my academics..."

BIG Difference isn't it??

Do you think I should send an edited copy?

Recommendations / any berkeley students out there
« on: October 18, 2004, 06:26:19 PM »
I was wondering if anyone here went to Berkeley and asked for letters from poli sci professors.  If so, whom did you ask?  I'm a little worried about one of my recs because the prof doesn't know me that well, or even remember me at all.  I would have originally asked my GSI, except the prof offered his services to the entire class as long as the GSI wrote a blurb about you.  I thought that was a nice gesture, so I asked him, figuring since the GSI would give him the details necessary to write a substantive letter.  I guess I'm just worried that it'll suck so I'm wondering if anyone's in the same boat I am in .

Studying for the LSAT / bubbles
« on: October 03, 2004, 03:21:38 AM »
Hi guys

I need some advice.  I'm a little paranoid about my bubbling.  How well do you have to erase and how well do you have to bubble in the answers?  I tried to erase well, but there's light smears that were left behind.  Plus, when i bubble, they're not perfectly in the lines, and not perfectly colored in.  Should I get it hand scored?

Studying for the LSAT / LSAT locations in northern CA
« on: July 23, 2004, 04:04:01 AM »
To previous LSAT takers,

Are there any norcal sites that you advice avoiding, or any that you really liked or have heard of its quality?  I'm choosing between UC Santa Cruz and John Adams Community College in SF.  Any info on these two sites would be really helpful.  Thanks!

In North America there has been an explosion of public interest in, and enjoyment of, opera over the last 3 decades. The evidence of this explosion is that of the 70 or os professional opera companies currently active in North America, 45 were founded over the course of the last 30 years.

The reasoning above assumes which of of the following?

b) there were fewer than 45 professional opera companies that had been active 30 years ago and that ceased operations during the last 30 years.

e) the 45 most recently founded opera companies were all established as a result of enthusiasm on the part of a potential audience.

*which one is the answer and why??

thanks for your help!

LSAT horror stories / my story
« on: June 16, 2004, 07:48:10 AM »
I completely freaked out!  Nothing was absorbing into my head, and my hand was shaking through the entire first section.  I normally finish LR with ease, but I didn't even do it this time!  Then the 2nd section was RC and it started with a science passage, which I hate...so this did not help AT ALL.  And my mind went blank while I read without understanding anything because i was too nervous.  I basically choked on the real day,  and cancelled my score.  I was scoring 165-166 before the real day...but got too nervous.  I want to keep studying to be able to confidently score 170+, but I also need to make sure I don't freak out on the real day.  I'm too inconsistent with RC, missing from 3 to 10 sometimes!  LG are another story.  I still haven't been able to finish 4 in 35 minutes.  My LR has improved a lot, and I can finish a section missing about 2-3 questions...5 when I'm tired.  If anyone has any advice or tips on how I can reach my goal or how I can ensure that I don't freak out again and choke, I would love to hear it!  Thanks a bunch.   ::)
