Law School Applications / Objective Ranking criteria for WUSTL
« on: June 26, 2007, 11:42:33 AM »
I'll be honest, I haven't been to St. Louis in awhile, but it is a hell hole.  It's top law school is trash.  The following are reasons why.  This account is entirely objective because I love Busch Light, and by association am a fan of this horrible city.

1. When staying at the Mellinium Hotel I went to the Mariott for lunch.  Not only was it overpriced, but it was the worst Mariott buffet lunch I've eaten in my entire life.
2. They gave the Cardinals a new stadium.
3. It rained too much there in 1993.
4. WUSTL is extremely over-priced.
5. WUSTL feeds over-saturated markets.
6. WUSTL has ugly buildings.
7. The crime, oh, the crime.
8. The Rams suck.
9. Missouri sucks.
10. Attendees are washed up T14 rejects.

Is there any information on American students who go abroad for their undergraduates and then apply for law school admission?  Assuming the student chooses an excellent international university what implications would this strategy have on their cycle?

First.  Determine if you are even cut out for law school.  Refer to the below chart and USNEWs rankings.  LSAT across the top; UGPAs down the side; scales are the rank numbers of your target schools; DA = Don't Apply.  Rankings give you a guide to where you might gain acceptance.

I drink alone... I prefer to be myself.

George Thorogood should have been a lawyer.

Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / LSU v. Tulane
« on: June 09, 2007, 06:57:47 PM »
Which of these law schools is better in terms of international prestige.  Someone asked me last night about wanting to work in France.  She seemed to think the LSU degree would give her an advantage over other US law schools due to their unique curriculum.  Has anyone else heard anything remotely like this?  Is it true?

Obviously USNews doesn't give LSU much love, but is there something the survey is missing when comparing these two schools?

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / 1L and Suicide
« on: June 05, 2007, 08:37:46 PM »
Does anybody know if this has ever happened?

Any 1Ls get driven so far to the edge that they snap and commit suicide?

Since we're in the last summer of fun I thought that I'd round up some girls and offer them a summer treat.  Problem is; I'm not really sure how to make that summer treat.

Ingrediants
1 Liter Grain Alcohol
4 cans frozen juice concentrate (2 lemonade; 2 orange/pineapple)
2 Whole pinapples
bag of grapes
about 7.5 lbs of dry ice

There is still plenty of time to go to the store; but with the above ingrediants please advise in the art of mixology

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / The Most Lawyerly Beverage
« on: May 22, 2007, 10:04:47 PM »
Alright, so we are going to be lawyers soon.  As we all know and expect social drinking will be a part of our legal careers.  What drinks should we focus on while in Law School to better our networking and likeability factor when we are mingling with real lawyers.

Something tells me the large quantities of beer, wine, well liquor etc. that flows in abundance at undergraduate parties.
