Choosing the Right Law School / USC 1L wastes time and answers Qs.
« on: December 03, 2008, 01:29:51 AM »
and.... go.

Quick question for a friend of mine.

So... This girl lives in an old apartment, just rented a very small, portable air conditioner for her room. the hose part goes out her window (the only window in her room) into a small enclosed alcove space between her building and the one next door. The space has a glass roof but likely isn't completely sealed off (the windows/roof might have openings).

anyway, after turning the ac on for a day, the neighbors across the alcove (in the other building) came over to complain that the exhaust from the hose is heating up the enclosed area and that their apartment is too hot now. Apparently this guy is throwing around some legal things (I don't know what they said to her exactly, she just told me the basics of the story) and threatening her. She offered to turn it on only at nights, and as low as possible, but the guy seems to be kind of a jerk. Obviously she doesn't want to take out the air conditioner altogether, but she also doesn't want it to become a serious issue.

so? suggestions? comments?

some things:

-I don't know anyone in Boston. I've only ever been once.
-I have family and some connections in LA
-I will have to take on a significant amount of debt for USC, very little if any for BC
-I may want to end up in LA. But I don't know, am not totally sold.

thanks  :-\

Law School Admissions / Emory Status checker
« on: December 10, 2007, 12:37:20 PM »
I just got an email from emory RE: their status checker, but the link doesn't seem to be working for me. Not sure if it's a problem becuase of a work related internet filter, though.

Anyone else get this and if so, is it working?

Law School Admissions / Hypothetically, how bad would this be?
« on: November 22, 2007, 11:01:00 AM »
I would really like to be away traveling for January and February. Would I be missing anything, applications-process-wise, other than the fact that I would have to have my father open my mail and email me results (if any)? Is there anything else that needs to be done around that time period?

Big white envelopes that, upon closer inspection, have been delivered to the wrong address.

Damn you Paul F Sneller!

But in case you're wondering, I have your mail. It looks important.

Law School Admissions / USC.. not complete?
« on: November 13, 2007, 02:07:00 PM »
I just got an email from USC saying:

"This e-mail is to acknowledge that we have also received the hard copy of your application in our office.  Your application is incomplete until we receive your LSDAS report from LSAC containing your undergraduate transcript, LSAT score and letters of recommendations.

Once we receive these documents we will consider your application complete and a new e-mail from our office will be sent to you for your records."

But according to LSDAS, my report was requested Nov. 5th.??? what's going on?
