Minority Topics / New Ethinicity categories on LSAC
« on: July 21, 2009, 08:28:00 AM »
Hey, I'm sure most of you got the email from LSAC explaining the changes with the ethnicity portion. I was just wondering, since they break up "asian" to many subcategories, would I now be considered a URM if i picked a southeast asian country as opposed to Chinese or Korean?

Where should I go next fall? / Is Iowa a national or regional school?
« on: March 25, 2009, 02:25:37 AM »
Their website shows graduates all over the US. I'm sure their top 25% get biglaw like any other tier 1 school. Does anyone know the rest of their class places nationally? They only rank top 12%, top 37%, and everyone else is unranked. Is this a good or bad thing when looking outside the midwest for employment?

Where should I go next fall? / Speaking Spanish in Texas
« on: March 20, 2009, 02:19:28 PM »
So I left Miami because I thought it was ridiculous that a city in America requires "fluent in english and spanish" in so many job applications. Now I'm starting to hear about the illegal immigration problems in Texas. Do the legal markets in Dallas or Houston care at all about whether you speak Spanish?

Where should I go next fall? / Is it too late to get scholarships?
« on: February 19, 2009, 09:41:23 PM »
I just decided to go to law school a few weeks ago and just got my apps out. If I have the same type of numbers as people who received scholarships but applied back in November, would I still be considered or are schools pretty much done with giving out scholarships at this point?

I know that their associates get much more money than most associates at a law firm. I was wondering if you work as an attorney for the PE firms, would their salaries be higher as well? Do they also get the huge bonuses that the associates get? Do they also have a chance to move up he PE firm, or do you have to have a business background? thanks for any responces.

I took Testmasters for the June LSAT, ended up missing 12 on the 2 sections together. It helped for the most part but is there anything else there that would get my score higher for AR? I got the TM stratagies already, im lookin for some new perspectives.
