I called Duke to check my status today and they told me that applications this year are up 33% and that I shouldnt expect a decision until late April. Figured some people would like to know this. I am very surprised applications are up so sharply considering the whole rape ordeal...I guess this doesnt bode well for us borderline candidates...

Penn and Duke, and many other schools I am sure, seem to keep everyone in the dark as to their progress. Does anyone know any tricks to get a clue what they are up to in the process?

I came to the realization that while my UGPA is decent, not great, my GPA in my minor (history) is a 4.0. I do absolutely no work for history classes, write essays the morning of etc. I work my butt off in my major (finance) and can only muster a 3.4 or so. Its just plain harder, do law schools care?
