Where should I go next fall? / Golden Gate--Worth my time?« on: July 05, 2007, 05:38:48 PM »
I just received my acceptance and scholarship offer from Golden Gate. I'm currently on the waitlist at my top two choices (Soutwestern and Chapman), is Golden Gate worth my time? I've definitely heard some of the negative but is there anything positive that would warrant me taking a trip to visit or consider attending? I want to practice in California and am currently interested in either Criminal or Entertainment law...but obviously things change! Any advice is definitely appreciated

So I just got a phone call saying I was accepted to Western State in California with a $16,000 a yr scholarship. I actually know pretty much nothing about the school. I heard that it's only provisionally approved with the ABA or something though? I'm on the waitlist for my top choices but was just wondering if I don't get in either of those if Western State is something to even consider. They also said they would accomodate me if I want to come visit. Is it worth my time? Thanks!

Has anyone on the waitlist for either of these schools heard anything yet? The waiting is driving me crazy! I'm so excited to run out and get the mail everyday, only to find nothing
 I know Nancy Reagan heard from Southwestern, but has anyone else on here?

I had applied to Thomas Jefferson really just as a back up school and because I love San Diego, but I don't really know much about the school. I've read that it has a pretty good legal writing program and Moot Court and Mock Trial. Does anyone plan on attending next fall or know more about the school? Thanks!

Where should I go next fall? / Question about Part time status and insurance« on: June 18, 2007, 12:15:49 PM »
I don't know if I'm posting this in the right spot or if anyone is really gonna have an answer to this, but I'll try anyways. I'm only 21 years old so still under my parents medical insurance as long as I'm a full-time student. I didn't apply to any Part Time Programs but I did say that if I could not receive a Full Time spot at Southwestern I'd be willing to take Part Time until I was able to transfer to FT. If this ends up being the case (only getting a PT spot) is there anything to do to keep Full Time Student Status? I know when my cousin went to Grad school the school wrote a letter to the insurance stating that althought it was only a part time program with the workload it was considered to be equivalent to full time. Do law schools do this? Like I said, I don't know if anyone has experienced this before or knows about this and I will end up having to talk to Southwestern directly if this happens but I would just like to have an idea of what would happen. Thanks for your help!

I have a question. I have ok numbers...155 LSAT and a 3.3 GPA but for some reason was denied admission to Gonzaga. At the time I didn't think much of it, but after looking at lsn I realize that people with much much lower scores were both admitted and waitlisted. Is it possible to have them look over my application again? I had great LOR's and one from an Alum of the law school. I'm just very puzzled by this.

Does anyone know anything about Regent? I keep getting emails and letters from them in the mail, but haven't even heard of them before. I looked them up and apparently they were one of the top five law schools for "Quality of Life" and have won two national titles in ABA competitions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wait List / Got waitlisted for FT Southwestern can I try for PT now?« on: June 09, 2007, 11:57:10 AM »
Southwestern is my top choice and I just got put on the waitlist
Is it possible to somehow write a letter asking for a spot for PT while staying on the waitlist for FT? I really want to attend there so I don't even care if I have to do PT for a year and maybe give up the FT waitlist spot. What can I do?
