1L job search / What to do after SA gig ends, and before school starts?

Hey guys,

I'm lucky enough to have gotten SA position at a large firm for the summer. However, the program runs 9 weeks (starts 2 weeks after exams), leaving me a awkward month left free before school starts.

How should I fill up this month? Is their any unpaid PI/Govt work I should be seeking out that wouldn't mind only having me there for 4 weeks? Maybe research for a professor?

1L job search / Does the set-up of the interview mean anything?

From perusing the search option, it seems as if interviews with firms can vary, from 30 minute interviews with 1 person, to slightly longer ones with multiple people at once, etc. Does the format of the interview have any significance? Like, how serious they are about you? I have an interview with a great FL firm, and its a series of four thirty minute interviews, with 4 different partners/associates, then a 2 hour lunch with two associates.

Also, any tips would be greatly appreciated. Since school isn't in session until the 5th, I don't really have the opportunity to ask Career Services!

General Board / E&E - Old Editions?

Hey Guys -

In an effort to save some $$$ for the upcoming school year (spring break?  ;)) I was wondering whether I could get away with buying old editions of the E&E's for CrimLaw, Property, and/or Torts. I used an older edition for Ks, which worked fine, although for Civ Pro I had to borrow my SO's newer copy for post-Twombly pleading rules, etc.

Also, if there are better supplements out there, shout. I've seen on here Dressler for Crim Law... but he has several books and I'm not sure which is the right one (although I'm assuming its "Understanding Crim Law").

Studying and Exam Taking / Ks Exams?

Hey Guys -

I have no idea if this is frowned upon or anything, but do any of yall have electronic copies of Ks exams from your school? I've got my exam coming up on Wednesday, and since I was a loser over Thanksgiving break, I've run out of old exams from my school, and the ones I've found through google.

I appreciate any help!  :)

General Board / 1L Job Search - Dec. 1st

Quick question for the 2Ls and above:

What is the correct format for sending out feelers for a 1L job after Dec. 1st?

Should I send an email with resume/cover letter attached in December, and follow up with paper copies + transcript once grades come out in January? Or should I do the reverse?
