Current Law Students / Those who passed California Bar
« on: September 27, 2009, 09:21:54 PM »
What preparation course did you use, if any? When did you start preparing?

I am a 3L now, and considering how hard CA bar is, I want to start studying now. I have books for MBE section (barbri, kaplan, flemings), but I am not sure what material is good for the essay part, and I am not sure if the books I have are enough. Is BarBri the best course for the Bar? I heard some students complaint its practice questions are easier than the real ones on the test.

I would greatly appreciate any advice and suggestions.

Thank you

Current Law Students / Trial Advocacy
« on: April 21, 2009, 09:05:38 PM »
Hey, I am taking Trial Advocacy class, and our lecturer is not very good. We are having a trial next week, I used all the info we got from lectures and skills portion of the class. But I feel like lost a bit, and I am not the only one who feels this way in the class. So I am wondering - does anyone know good web sources I can use? Like examples of opening statements, witness examinations, tips etc.

Current Law Students / Who leaves exam room earlier???
« on: December 12, 2008, 11:42:23 AM »
Subj, I am curious. And why would people do this? I have some students in my class who would start packing their stuff, books, laptop and clapping doors when leaving. And they do it 5 minutes before the actual time is called. I mean - c'mon. Are they in such a rush so that they need to distract everyone else to just save several minutes? Or do they do it on purpose?? Or to show off that "I am smarter, you are still writing your answers and I am done already" ?? I just hate it. And it is not being smart, the time is allocated for reason, and they end up missing issues. Usually those who use all the time given get better grades.

any thoughts?

Current Law Students / Best BAR review courses?
« on: September 24, 2008, 03:57:11 PM »
Our school is only advertising Kaplan for Bar review. I remember people criticized it as a prep course for the LSAT, so I have negative associations with this name. What do other people think? Did you use Kaplan for your bar preparation?
I know kaplan doesn't use actual questions from the previous actual test. Is there a prep course that does use actual questions? Kind of like Testmasters for the LSAT?

Current Law Students / what is the purpose of outlines?
« on: September 24, 2007, 07:21:29 AM »
Hi, all. I just want to know - why everybody is talking about doing outlines? I mean - why do people really need them? For me, it is easier to read my notes 2-3 times, than spend all this time preparing the shorter version of notes. Plus,I would understand and remember the material better, when I have additional info and information in my notes, then when I have just rules and holdings.
Correct me if I am wrong, and please let me know what you think.

What do you think?
is it possible to transfer from T4?
