General Board / Please, Help
« on: September 20, 2004, 02:00:25 PM »
Hello,

If you have following choices, which one would you pick, and why?
The ultimate goal, after graduation, is to work as 1) a litigator in finance cases or 2) a prosecutor in SEC or AG.

1.  UPenn Wharton JD/MBA Program (4 years)
2.  Columbia JD/MBA (4 years)
3.  Columbia or Chicago JD, Harvard MBA (5 years)

Wharton has a better MBA program than Columbia does, but Columbia has a better JD program.  Harvard JD is out of choice.

MBA is a must for me.

Thanks!

Studying for the LSAT / Prep Test 38?
« on: September 27, 2004, 03:37:02 PM »
 >:(
I was studying at a library.  Went to have lunch, and came back to find that my stuff was gone including the Prep Test 38 that I was planning to do.

I think that it's too late to buy the preptest 38.  However, if anyone has a copy, could you please send me an email?  I am willing to purchase a copy asap (electronic copy/version is preferred since time is limited).

jamesrhino@roadfly.com

Thanks.

Studying for the LSAT / Rich/Poor, Honest/Dishonest????
« on: September 09, 2004, 06:09:39 PM »
Hi,

Could you please explain to me what/why the answer for the following question is?

In this world, you are either rich or poor, and you are either honest or dishonet.  All poor farmers are honest.  Therefore, all rich farmers are dishonest.

Conclusion is properly drawn if the argument assumes that

a. every hones farmer is poor
b. every honest person is a farmer
c. everone who is dishonest is a rich farmer
d. everyone who is poor is honest
e. every poor person is a farmer

This is so confusing.  Thank you.

Law School Applications / Undergraduate GPA Premium?
« on: July 12, 2004, 04:32:49 PM »
I was at an event, and a spokeperson from one of the top 10 LSs mentioned that applicants from the undergraduate schools with GPA deflation get a little boost in their GPA (0.1~0.2 on average) when compared to applicants from other schools (For instance, that person mentioned that Swarthmore College and the University of Chicago have harsh grading system).

Is this true?  If so, what schools are known for the harsh or easy grading system?

Studying for the LSAT / LSAT June to October Question, Help Please!!
« on: June 08, 2004, 09:26:32 AM »
Hello,

I am thinking about changing my test date to October from June.  Although I have studied hard, I believe that there are some elements that I am fundamentally lacking or not grasping.  I can do fine when not timed, but under the timing pressure, things fall apart.

My only concern is that I have done every test preps from 2-40 so far.  With what or how should I study during the next 4 months from now, if I were to change my test date?

It is extremely important for me to get above 170.

Thanks for your advice in advance.
