L.L.M. Board / LLM in London after BA?
« on: November 26, 2006, 09:49:48 PM »
I have an American BA under my belt and will have 2 years of Professional Experience in Immigration Law by the time I enter graduate school.  I am currently applying to JD programs as well as this one LLM program at The School of Oriental and African Studies in London.   This program attracts me because its One Year and its focus is on the developing world.  With this in mind, if I am accepted to this One Year LLM for 2007-08, I will defer my JD for until Fall 2008.  Do you think this is a wise option as I do hope to teach law one day as well as practice law abroad.

here is the school's site:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Where should I go next fall? / Should I consider Syracuse or Buffalo?
« on: March 23, 2007, 10:14:06 AM »
I've narrowed my choices down to Pace, Albany, or Hofstra.  Should I consider Syracuse or Buffalo if I want to live/work in the NYC area?  Or for any other reasons?  Here is my LSN: http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com/display.php?user=asadr

Any thoughts on where I should attend?  Thus far, I have been most impressed with Pace after I attended their Open House.  Albany is giving me a lot of scholarship money but Pace seems like it might have more international and New York City connections.  As for Hofstra, I have attended their information session and I wasn't too impressed with their facilities for one, and secondly, the scholarship they gave me is far less than either Pace or Albany.

If I do get into St. John's, Temple, or RU Newark, I probably will go for them.  However, at this time, I want to confirm a seat somewhere.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

They informed me that I should find out if I am accepted, rejected, or waitlisted by late April.  Should I send them a letter of continued interest at this time?  Thanks.

Hi I know its late in the game but I want to know if it would be worth applying to Temple for me at this point given my numbers.  Please see my LSN page below:

I really would like to live in Philly and I think Temple might be a near-shot for me?  I'm not sure.

Hi,

I noticed many schools only take your first 3 LORS from the LSDAS reports.  Is there any way to request LSDAS to send all 4 to each school you apply to?  The reason I ask is because I added a 4th LOR for my 2006-2007 app cycle which I did not have in my 2005-06 cycle.  Thanks.

Law School Applications / St. John's MA/JD in Government and Politics

Does anyone know if there is a GRE requirement for this program?  Does one also have to apply to the Graduate School simultaneously?  The actual St. John's JD application does not mention this.  Thank You!
