General Board / Cornell Students who have taken Taylor for K
« on: April 12, 2008, 12:10:10 PM »
We have Prof. Taylor from Cornell as a visiting prof this semester.  Anyone taken her before (she's from Cornell) and have some advice for us frantic students trying to figure out how to prep for her exam?

Thanks SO MUCH!

Brooklyn Law School / Brooklyn Law Class of 2010
« on: June 19, 2007, 04:38:54 PM »
Hi all.  I just created a Google Groups for anyone entering Brooklyn Law School this year (2007).

I know there is this board, and the Brooklyn Law School Admitted Students BoardÖ but my thought was it could be a more specific Brooklyn Law group to post questions for one another.

Check it out if you are interested!

Where should I go next fall? / Brooklyn Law Student taking Questions
« on: February 12, 2008, 10:36:57 PM »
I used this board fairly heavily last year when deciding where to go.  Time to give what little I have learned back.  If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer.

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Textbooks

What are the best websites to buy used textbooks?  I really don't want to pay $700 for text books my first quarter.

I am very torn between these two schools for public interest.

I want to practice public interest in NYC but am offered a higher ($20,000 more) financial package from Seton.  I don't think St. John's will raise their offer (as they've already raised it)

Thoughts?

Where should I go next fall? / Seton vs. St. Johns

Seton vs. St. Johns

I am sure this question has been asked before, but as there is no search function anymore, here I go.

I am from Seattle and will be in NYC visiting campuses next week.  I would like a perspective on Seton Hall vs. St. Johns.  Right now I have similar offers from both.  I am fairly confident that I want to do criminal law/public interest (have been doing it as a non-lawyer for 3 years now), and I keep hearing that St. Johnís has a strong criminal law program.  Where does this info come from?  Any other thoughts/comparisons between these schools.

I would really appreciate any input as I know very little about NYC market.

Where should I go next fall? / St. John's Payment extension?
« on: April 05, 2007, 07:56:29 PM »
Has anyone been successful at getting an extension of the deadline for submitting your decision and money to St. John's?

I have received extensions for all my schools with no problem... but I have emailed the same person at St. John's over 5 times.  They answer other questions I ask in the same email but keep ignoring my request.  Iíve finally sent (now two) emails over three days with the only question asked in the email about this extension with absolutely no replies.

I could call but now Iím just annoyed.  It's like they are specifically ignoring my request for extension.  I understand being busy, etc.  But they reply to my other questions quickly.

Where should I go next fall? / A dog in NYC?
« on: March 26, 2007, 04:57:19 PM »
I'm sure this has been discussed, but as there is no search, I must start a new thread.

My wife and I are 3 weeks away from getting a new small "apartment" dog.  My question is simply: how much harder is it to find a good apartment in NYC when you have a dog?  I'm not sure where, specifically, I am going yet.  However, I do know that it is NYC.  I know that I am shooting myself in the foot as some schools provide housing (ie- Brooklyn) with a no dog policy.  But what about the rest of the city?

Please help!

Where should I go next fall? / Do you ever get $$ when waitlisted?
« on: March 19, 2007, 02:55:12 PM »
I got waitlisted at Fordham (no shock).  Now, if I were to get in off the waitlist, would I ever get $$?  Or should I assume that they will not give me any money as I'm hardly even getting in if off of waitlist.  Anyone with an experience of getting money off a waitlist?
