a testament to how bad this website is: rachael ray endorsed it on her show.  'nuff said.

Incoming 1Ls / Books recommended by Law School Confidential?
« on: June 13, 2007, 12:09:19 PM »
Does anyone have this list handy?  The study aids recommended for the first year courses by Law School Confidential?  I don't have my book but I want to order them, because I'm bored.

EDIT: didn't see there was already a thread on this, sry

search option anymore?  I was going to look to see if this had already been discussed, but I couldn't, because... no search option.

It's really frustrating.  Am I just looking in the wrong place?

I'm applying for some jobs this summer, and they're law-related... should I update my resume to say where I'm going next fall, even though I haven't graduated undergrad?  How would that look?

What would you do... take Penn Levy scholarship (full tuition first year, half 2nd and 3rd years) or Georgetown Dean's Scholarship (full tuition all three years).

I'm actually leaning towards Georgetown, because I want a change of scene (went to Penn undergrad) and I feel like it's a more vibrant city for people in their 20s.

Do you guys think Penn's reputation would lead to significantly better opportunities than Georgetown's?

Anyone applying for this?  Any idea how many are invited to apply, and how many are given out?

Maybe I'm the only one who didn't realize this, but Harvard still averages scores:

For some reason I thought they took the highest.  I'm screwed now!  172 to 177 isn't a big enough difference for them to only consider the highest, if they do indeed average.

$160,000 starting is a lot.

Much as I loathe xoxo generally speaking, it does have a lot of information about post-LS life.  But it makes me wary of some of the successful, practicing lawyers out there.  A lot of them appear to suck.
