I got my grades today. A in Crim law, A- in Contracts, and a farkin B in Civ Pro. 3.55 GPA. I know that's pretty good, but I'm pissed about Civ Pro since it was my first B in law school. It is magnified by the fact that the professor is an arrogant arse who likes to brag about how he was a big shot who helped the oil companies rape the environment and how he helped Bush and his cronies stop the recount in 2000. We're on a 3.2 curve, so a B is in the middle of the class. I felt really good after the exam, so I was blown away when i saw the grade. I'm just praying that it doesn't knock me out of the top 10% of the class. Just needed to vent.

Can someone whose a whiz at math tell me if a 3.89 GPA would make likely land in the top 10% of the class with a 3.2 curve? I got 2 A's and an A-, so the only GPA that could beat me would be a 4.0. Is there a chance that enough people aced all their classes that I could get knocked out of the top 10%? Any opinions are appreciated.

So far my top two that i've been admitted to are U. of Ilinois and Wash U. I visited both schools and was impressed by both, but I liked the atmosphere and people at Illinois better. Money is about even (Wash U. gave me a better scholarship, but more expensive to begin with and Illinois has said they might up their offer.) Does eight spots in the ranking (19 vs. 27) make Wash U. a no-brainer pick? Or can I in good consciensce select either one?

3.2, 169 LSAT out of state. Damn
Disapointed as hell.

is it even worth it?? My mom insists we should add Michigan to our list of schools we're visiting this spring break in order to "show them that you're really interested." Do you really think it would help (btw I'm really skeptical that it would)
?? FWIW I'm already visiting two other schools I was admitted to, and my parents are being cool enough to pony up the money for my visits.

I'm shocked, I thought I was going to get dinged. They say their waitlist is small, so i feel like I have an outside chance. FWIW my numbers are 3.2, 169 LSAT.

I was waitlisted at Vandy on Saturday, which kinda devastated me? What do you think my chances are of being accepted off the waitlist. My numbers are 3.2 GPA and 169 LSAT.

I have been accepted into both Emory and Illinois, with Illinois giving me a 10K/year scholarship. Is the one spot (#26 vs #27) worth passing up a scholarship???

I've been freaking out about Vanderbilt for the past week. With a 3.2 GPA and a 169 LSAT....do I have a good shot?

Got my first rejection today from BC. No big deal, but I am worried that this doesn't speak well for my chances at my top choices such as Vanderbilt, Texas, and Michigan (longshot anyway). The main reason i'm pissed is it breaks my acceptance-only streak. Oh well, 6 for 7 isn't too bad.
