General Board / increase loan amount
« on: July 16, 2004, 12:17:34 AM »
Hey everyone. I got approved for my loans, but my school only certified a very small amount. I know that schools sometimes can increse the amount of the private loan that they certify... but only for a good reason. Did anyone ever hear of how to best approach this? I would just like to increase it by a small amount (1500 a year). What are some good reasons I could give my school?

General Board / bad credit loans
« on: July 08, 2004, 09:36:34 PM »
Hey everyone. My credit isnt that good, but I need to get loans for law school this year. I have a cosigner with awesome credit that is willing to sign for me. I did some research and I know that I need to go through a lender that allows for the borrower(me) and the cosigner to apply at the same time. [lenders like citibank, nallie mae allow that; access group doesnt]. I am still worried that I may not get the loans. Did anyone have a situation like that or similar, and if so can anyone for any reason recommend a lender that will be more lenient with such a situation.

« on: May 27, 2004, 05:11:45 PM »
Hey everyone. Anyone graduated from or currently attending california western? Its a T4 school, and i got into a T2 school... but i dont really like the environment of it. I see that the expected salary for cali. western is around 60. Is that true? Its kind of low. and how hard is it to live and find jobs in san diego? Anyway, if anyone could give me any tips about the job, san diego, and the schools program it would be great.
THANKS!

General Board / stay in NYLS or move to Southwestern
« on: May 16, 2004, 11:07:09 AM »
Hey everyone, maybe some of you can help me out. I am living in new york, and really like nyls. I do however like warmer weatehr and LA as a place to live in. I have a chance of going to NYLS, or moving to california and going to Southwestern Univ. Law. The schools are ranked on nearly the same level. I am looking for advice from anyone who has the same problem, similar, moved from LA to new york, or new york to LA. Is moving difficult, is finding an apartment hard? I have a dog, and im going there with my girlfriend so I would have to get my own place. How is the area around southwestern? How is the school in general. Any feedback you can give is great.
Thanks.
