Are the LSAT numbers from each school based on students' highest LSAT or average LSAT? I know in the past it was average LSAT. Did the ABA policy change on LSAT reporting already affect the 2008 US News numbers? Just curious.
Where should I go next fall? / Who's considering turning down extra $$ from a school that's just as good?« on: April 06, 2007, 12:10:14 PM »
Make me feel less alone about possibly doing this for lifestyle reasons.
By "$$", I mean $60k-80k in total budget over 3 years. By "as good as", I mean you can get a nice biglaw job without any effort from either school, so Chicago/Columbia/Michigan/NYU/Penn/Virginia are all comparable.
Does anyone have experience or know of someone who has used $$ offers from the 7-14 ranked schools to get $ from CCN? Is this common? Does it ever happen? More specifically, do CCN regard MVPB as "peer schools"? Thanks in advance for any info.
I didn't want to be the one to start this, but it seems like NYU doesn't attract many kids who are obsessed with LSD (this is probably a good thing). I just want to get a sense of how many people will be going to this ASW. There was a grand total of one review of the March 2 ASW on LSD, and I think it was in a thread originally about Columbia.
Anyway, you should post here if you're going on March 30. Hopefully it'll be more than just me visiting that day, surrounded by the entire faculty. If a decent number of people want to arrange something for the Thursday night before, like going bar-hopping in the Village, I'd be up for that. Just sleeping and being rested for the atrocious 8:30am start time would be fine, too.

Anyone going to this? It sounds like fun, especially the part about watching a Bulls game from the owner's luxury suite.
(If you see my LSN and wonder why I'm invited to this, I'm not completely white. I'm a non-URM mutt.)
This is not a big deal, but I'm curious because I heart my Mac. There must be a few other people on here who would find this information helpful, too.
NYU requires PCs for exams, which is fine - just another grand I'll have to spend for law school. Do any NYU students use Macs for everything besides exams? Is that too inconvenient?
Are there other schools where using a Mac will be a problem?

For any current GULC students or anyone who went to this in a previous year: Is the January reception worth the $200 plane ticket and 2 days of my time?
I've never been to the campus, and I don't know much about the school.
