Incoming 1Ls / MacBook v. Macbook Pro
« on: July 10, 2007, 07:23:28 AM »
So I can't decide. Do I want the screen space or the portability? They're not that different but every little bit helps. The money isn't a huge issue but hey, who wouldn't want to save money.

The other option is to wait until October/November and buy a new Macbook or Pro when they release Leopard and hopefully another Hardware update... I currently have a 12" Powerbook that has always served me well -- I just can't take tests on it in LS.

Anyone know? I'm not too versed on these things but I received 9k in subsidized staffords and that's probably all I'll need because of the scholarship.

Just got the Colorado Waitlist. Anyone else on it?

Choosing the Right Law School / Should I even bother with need-based?
« on: February 13, 2007, 07:26:56 PM »
Tulane sent me the need-based scholarship application, but I have a significant amount of assets (about the price of a small luxury car) and expect my parents to contribute about a third of tuition. Should I even bother filling out this stupid form?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / WL'd at Wake

I'm not sure that I'm even that interested in going to Wake anymore, but I did get Waitlisted today 1/22. Any others?

LSN says at least some people should have heard by now...

Law School Admissions / Funny at Touro
« on: January 08, 2007, 02:51:21 PM »
Does anyone else think it's funny that the asst. dean of admissions at Touro's name is George Justice? I mean, that guy should definately be a lawyer. He'd walk into the courtroom, win the case and then couple with the judge's daughter... in front of everyone.

Just got an e-mail from them, thought it was worth mentioning. Could there be a more perfect law name?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / In at Tulane.. no mention of $$?
« on: January 08, 2007, 02:48:48 PM »
So does this mean I don't get any? It seems like most people who got money also had a line in their e-mails saying that scholarship info was enclosed with the acceptance packet.

Law School Admissions / Weird E-mail from Alabama
« on: December 21, 2006, 08:32:18 AM »
It essentially gives me a login and password to the Alabama Web site (I now have an alabama e-mail address) and says I can check my application status online, but for some reason that option isn't available when I log into the system. Anyone else having this problem with the application status check?

Law School Admissions / Tulane "submitted for review"
« on: December 20, 2006, 08:19:57 AM »
So I got all excited about an e-mail that was subjected "Your application to Tulane Law School" but unfortunately it was just an e-mail telling me that my application had been "submitted to the admissions committee for review" and that I would be notified as soon as a decision has been reached but "this can take some time"

Anyone else get this recently?
