So, I have basically decided to go to Northwestern, but I am a little squeamish about just withdrawing from Chicago right away. I want to make sure I'm making the right decision, so I want you all to convince me to go to Chicago by telling me why Chicago is the best. The only rule is that you can't tell me why Northwestern sucks. Only positive things about Chicago

Hey, just wanted to know if anyone is going to sit in on a class this Friday and if so, which one? I'm definitely sitting in on one of the 10:25am classes listed on the admitted student site, I just can't choose. Any suggestions on which class I should sit in on from prospective and current students would be appreciated! (and if you're sitting in on one of the classes, let me know which one, having company would be nice)
Here are the classes:
Torts, Professor Albert Yoon, Wieboldt 350
Intellectual Property, Professor Olufunmilayo Arewa, Rubloff 339
Conflict of Laws, Professor Carole Silver, Levy Mayer 212
Estates and Trusts, Professor James Lindgren, Levy Mayer 104

I was going to Northwestern (with $20k/year automatically renewable) until I got a scholarship offer from Chicago (cum. $36 with strange breakdowns per year). So now I'm confused again (in the best possible way, of course).
Help un-confuse me...or at least entertain me until I go to ASWs and make up my mind.
Here's info about me:
coming straight from undergrad
don't want to go into academia for sure, not sure if I want to clerk or not
I want to live and work in Chicago after I graduate
Northwestern's location is a big draw because I currently live in a shady part of town because of my undergrad's location (and after 4 years of that, I want to get out)
buuuuut Chicago's quarter system and their wine messes sound awesome
I want to make friends and have a life outside law school
I'm mainly taking into account atmospheric considerations now because, to me, the schools are in the same echelon of greatness in terms of academia (and if you don't agree with that, tell me, because that's important also).
Any advice is appreciated!

I just got my waitlist e-mail from Duke. I applied there on a whim and wasn't planning on going there. If I had gotten in with $$ I would have used them as a bargaining chip. I withdrew as soon as I got the e-mail because I'm not taking someone's spot on the waitlist when they actually want to be at Duke.
Anyway, I ran my cycle other than that, and now the decision is going to be the hard (but really fun) part.
But really, the purpose of me starting this thread is so other people whose cycles are finished can congregate and claim victory (or defeat) over the law school application cycle.

Anyone else have their family/friends/family friends/etc. give them ridiculous unsolicited advice about where to go?
My favorite so far is:
If you get into UChicago you shouldn't go there because you don't get to live near Wrigley Field.

Get the information about the admitted students website yet? They said in the admissions packet that they'd send it soon and that the website would have stuff about the ASW on it. I want to start seeing when I'd need to make plans for it.

Hey guys. I got a nice last night of Hannukah surprise on Saturday...received my SLU acceptance package. Envelope details to come...I'm on vacation now and my parents called me when they got the envelope. All I know is that it was big and contained info about the school and an invitation for me to apply for a full ride scholarship (1843 Scholars Program). My permanent address is in St. Louis, so I'm assuming that starting Tuesday, we'll be seeing quite a few more acceptances hitting the boards. Good luck to everyone who applied. I'm really excited...SLU is not my first choice, but it IS my first acceptance!!!!!
I'm going to law school!!!!!!!

So I went and checked the Northwestern status checker just now to see if they had corrected my address yet. They did. They also gave me a complete date...something I hadn't had before. It said my application was completed on 12/13/06. It used to say that my application was complete.
Did this change for anyone else? For those of you who got in, did it give you a date before giving you a decision?
