Hey guys,

I am looking for housing in Ann Arbor, and I'm wondering if any of you may have a word or two to say about the bus system. More specifically, I'm trying to find out from the point of view of the actual users of the system--rather than people who are either trying to sell the school or the convenience of a place they're trying to sublet--how well does it work to live a few miles away from the law quad and rely on bikes & buses to get back and forth? Is it a huge pain in the a$$ or a total breeze, or something in between? How often do buses come, and are they reliable? How long does it take to travel, say, 4 miles by bus within Ann Arbor?

Any advice, particularly from people who actually "commute" to the law school or have in the past, would be great!

Wait List / How long would you stay on a waitlist?

So, say you were waitlisted at your first choice/one of your top choices of law school. How late in the season would you wait for a decision before withdrawing and/or what is the latest date you'd accept an offer of admission?

Hey all,
I keep expecting to get waitlisted at Penn because they have obviously been sending out waves of waitlist emails over the past few weeks. When I called for a status update, they just said "no final decision has been made." They didn't say my application is on hold, but is that what they mean at this point in the cycle? (my complete date was 2/10).

Any thoughts on what they are looking for at Penn? They're a school that is sort of a mystery to me, other than just hearing people are really happy there.

Okay, who out there has heard nothing from: NYU, Columbia, Chicago & Penn?If so, when did your application go complete?

Which is better? And would I have heard by now if a school has my application on hold? What exactly does that mean for how they look at your application?

There are alot of schools I have not heard from yet, even though I know that some people have. Does that mean I have been rejected?

Also, Harvard made a mistake and, even though LSAC sent them my complete information in January, they emailed me earlier this month and said they were missing stuff, even though they'd had it for two months (I emailed LSAC and they had the record of sending those items, and then when I called Harvard they checked and said, "oh yeah, we have it, it will go to the committee in a few days.")
Does this hurt my chances of getting in (which were not great to begin with)?

Also (one more question): Do recommendations by alumni relatives carry any weight?
