General Board / Single Parent starting Law School

I will be starting law school in the fall and while my parents will keep my 8 year old son during the first year- I definately want him to move with me the following summer.

Are there any single parents who are in law school- or finished with law school- who can tell me if balancing parenthood with law school can be successful.

General Board / Incoming 1L trying to buy books before classes

I am new to the law school procedure..do professors typically give their book lists to the bookstores in enough time to order books from half.com.  I could never use half.com to buy books in undergrad but I have fallen in love with this method of buying books while working on my Masters..

Mercer / Hello Mercer Law Class of 2009

Has anyone been accepted to the class of 2009?  I am preparing for my transition back to Mercer (I went to undergrad there and graduated in 2003).

I now have 15 work hours left, I move this weekend and I will be starting my orientation in TWO WEEKS!!

I thought I had so much time left.  I can't believe that the time has went so quickly and I am rushing to get everything in order.

Anyone else getting close to the wire??

my question is why does the first sentence have to read basically Lacrosse team vs. Stripper.  You don't even know that the woman is a college student until later on in the article.

Financial Aid / Mercer aid packet anyone? Seat deposit question also...

I am waiting for my aid packet to see how much money I am going to have to come up with minus the scholarship they offered.  Does anyone know if you can ask to postpone paying the seat deposit until after I receive the packet?
