Hey everyone, I am a rising 2L and I called a small firm to inquire about employment for next summer and they told me that they had already filled their summer associate positions for next year.
 I am considering sending them a cover letter and resume anyway. Is this a good idea?

Hey everyone, I called a small firm that I was interested in today to inquire about working there for my 2L summer and was told that they have already hired their summers for next year. I was under the impression that firms did not start recruiting until later in the summer/fall. Hmmmm.

Hey everyone, I got to school in NC and was possibly looking at the Tampa Bay market as my fiance lives there. I am not really interested in working in a large firm, does anyone know of the names of any small to mid-size firms in the area, or the best place to look for these firms?

Ok, I am a first year law student and came across this article today. So ok, I know right now the economy is in the toilet, but I am wondering if they picked the worst of the worst situations to highlight in this article because it was kind of scary, although I knew some of it to be true. And if this is accurate, do any of the current 2L or 3L think the market will get any better

Hey has anyone received any more information about enrollment (besides loan materials) from them? I called them last Monday and they said they were sending out additional materials, but still havent gotten anything yet.

I have been looking at the boards here and this is my situation. I will probably be going to NCCU for law school. But would like to work in Florida(Orlando area) after graduation. Does anyone know what are the job prospects like if you don't want to practice law in NC?

God is Good! I got an acceptance letter from NCCU School of law today!(which surprised me, considering they rejected me last year) So my dream of being a lawyer will come true! But here is my dilemma. I am getting married and my fiance lives in Orlando. (I have applied to FAMU, but haven't heard back from them yet, but I would rather go to NCCU anyway) He is starting his own business down there and really can't move right now. We would probably get married b/f I started law school, but I know the distance, even though its only about an 8-9 hr drive from Orlando will be hard. Has anyone here ever been away from a husband/wife while going to law school?

I have heard that schools are only required to report the LSAT and the GPA for the incoming fall classes.(this would only apply to schools with fall AND spring enrollments) Thus, being more open to allowing a class with lower numbers to enter in the Spring. Is this true?
