Choosing the Right Law School / Visting before an Acceptance???
« on: March 27, 2006, 04:15:33 PM »
Although I have not been accepted (yet?) I will be visiting my parents in the city of one of my law schools and called to set up a visit. The woman on the phone was BEYOND nice and even offered to look up my application status after scheduling a visitation time with me. I was told that I had gone through the Asst.Dean's review and was on to the committee, so it could be another 3 weeks.

When I go for my visit this Friday, which is NOT an open house or an Admitted Students Day, is it inappropriate to try to meet Professors, let alone the Dean or Asst. Dean. I'd love to express my obvious interest during this visit, but I am not sure what to expect. Maybe just a tour of the facilities? Regardless, I'm very excited. Just wondering if anyone else has been in my shoes? Thanks.

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / How to find your school's curve

I was wondering if there was a place to look to find out the curve that your potential school grades on. Some people seem to know, so does ABA provide that data? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Choosing the Right Law School / GSU part time???
« on: February 28, 2006, 08:15:06 PM »
Does anyone have any info or stats on GSU's part time program. I've looked at LSAC's ABA data and LSN, but was wondering if anyone could offer me personal experiance. I feel that my 151/3.4 is way too low for their full time addmissions, though I do have great recs and 2 yrs WE as a legal assistant at a great firm in Washington DC(undergrad in DC too). I hate when people ask what their chances are...but if anyone has a story that might bring a smile to my stressed out face...I'll totally love you.

GSU part time...I've got my fingers crossed... :P

Choosing the Right Law School / Denied FT, can you ask for PT?
« on: February 25, 2006, 03:43:40 PM »
If you recieve a rejection from a school, is it inappropriate to call and see if you can be considered for their part time program?

Has anyone done this, and if so, who is best to ask for on the phone? I feel like most people answering the phone will not care at all. Would a letter be more effective?
To be short, I just need advice on this...Thanks! ::)
