Law School Applications / Non-Accredited?
« on: February 25, 2006, 01:35:16 AM »
A while back there was a school I was looking at (bc of geographic location) that had a large class size but then I saw it wasn’t accredited and decided against it. (Drexel)

Obviously other than the obvious.. “cant get in anywhere else” … why would someone choose to go to a “non accredited” school?   I read that its 3 years before a school can become accredited. Do they just throw people money to attend their school while its in its “probation” period? Or .. is there something else that draws people there?

Just curious ... I have been curious for a while and just cant come up with an answer

Site Suggestions and Announcements / Unread Post selections

How about a place to add a “tick mark” on threads you want to mark as read … so you have an opportunity to get rid of those you don’t want to read and just have a list of what you want to look at?

Didn’t read all these threads in this topic so my most humble apologies if it was already raised

LSAC and LSDAS / Academic Summary Report
« on: February 18, 2006, 05:32:22 PM »
Would anyone be willing to look at my mess of a transcript report from LSAC? I am trying to figure this out but there are many things that dont make sense.

Eg. my current transcript only shows 2.7 hours this year -- thats not possible.
My GPA from community college killed my CGPA .. how to explain?

Meta Discussion / Not looking to start an online fight but …
« on: February 18, 2006, 02:18:11 PM »
Is it really necessary for “black students’ to have their own discussion board? We are all going through the same thing. Why do we perpetuate the obvious differences by continuing to segregate? Yes – minorities have a “one up” but sh*t, I’m working my a** off here. How come we don’t have a “white discussion board”?

The above bolded and underlined was unnecessary. The other parts of it -- totally necessary and meant. I could even read that today as a terrible way to communicate.

LSAC and LSDAS / Paper Reports (Yawn, I know)
« on: February 18, 2006, 09:44:32 AM »
I just went on LSAC (sac, like ball sac) and two of my schools have PAPER COPY's under them. What in heaven does that mean?

One of the schools hasnt even requested my report yet. Now ... I did send them a paper copy on my own, is that what it means? Why would a school update LSAC if they got a paper copy from a student? I'm ridic ... I sent cover letters and all that pretty crap directly to the schools too.

Studying for the LSAT / not really working with the English language
« on: February 17, 2006, 09:23:24 PM »
I had a guy in my LSAT prep class and when called on to read passages you couldn’t even understand him. He fumbled words, made up words and even screwed around with entire sentences.
Oddly, once he was done reading he had it all figured out. Smart guy but terrified of the test and school in general.

My question (finally) is, does anyone know how these people ultimately do on the LSATS? He had a grasp but it was like only touch a true grasp.

Poor kid. Curious, does LSAT offer tests in other languages? As PC as the test are, I would imagine?? Then again .. there arent courts in different language. I like that.

LSAT horror stories / The in seat pee'r
« on: February 17, 2006, 09:09:55 PM »

I don’t know why … but maybe bc I am a child “in class pee’r bc my neurotic 3rd grade teacher had this insane shake of the head thing – almost Parkinson like – and no one knew when you had permission to go pee EVER so we all sat in class with our legs crossed” ….

Anyone ever heard any stories about someone not being able to hold it while taking the LSAT? I might have even had a nightmare about this.

Hi – anyone know any decent/good schools in PA/NY that look at work/life experience and trumps it to LSAT/GPA?  I’m a nontraditional …. !
