Choosing the Right Law School / Admit Student Weekend, worth going to?
« on: December 03, 2006, 05:04:23 PM »
I'm planning a trip to South America in the spring and I fear that my schedule may conflict with the ASW at several schools.  What are the advantages and disadvantages of visiting on an ASW?  Would I perhaps get a better sense of what the school is really like visiting on my own?  Many thanks in advance!

Law School Admissions / Crap, Found Typo -- What should I do?

I just found a typo.  Should I just hope they don't see it?  Or should I ask to resend?   :'(

Law School Admissions / Submitting Applications
« on: September 08, 2006, 01:52:00 PM »
Can I submit applications even though LSAC does not have my LORs yet?  How does that work?  Will they send the letters as they come in, or will they hold them and send them all at once?  I am targeting my three general letters.  Thanks folks.

Law School Admissions / Stanford LOR Question
« on: September 05, 2006, 01:50:22 PM »
How important is it to use Stanford's LOR form?  I know they have a grid and that they "place a high value on school specific letters on Form C."

If I don't have a Stanford specific letter, would it help very much to have my recommenders at least change the address box and fill out the grid on Form C?  Or can I just use the LSDAS LOR Service?  Any ideas?

I'm definitely sending in the Why Michigan, but I am debating on whether or not to write another one.

Law School Admissions / Why X Essay and Scholarships
« on: August 21, 2006, 12:39:59 PM »
Will writing a very persuasive Why X essay decrease your likihood of recieving merit based aid from a particular institution?

Say for example you wanted to go to Penn because your fiancee found a job in Philly, or say you wanted to go to Michigan due to a family emergency in Lansing.  Will revealing too much (ie tipping your hand) to admissions effect scholarship considerations?
