Incoming 1Ls / Part-time evening workload?
« on: May 18, 2011, 11:59:17 AM »

Can anybody please give me an idea about the workload I could expect for the part-time evening JD program?

Class is 6-9pm, M-Th. Working full-time 8-5pm-ish.

How many hours of outside school work roughly, weekend hours (all and every weekend?!?) ??

Is it mostly reading and briefing; how many papers weekly and length ??

Rough hours are fine, thanks.

Choosing the Right Law School / Will online JD's ever be ABA approved?
« on: February 23, 2011, 05:33:46 PM »
... will they?
if you get an online Calif. JD, how is the process to change to practice law in FL?

Hi, what is the process for transferring ?
What are the minimum and maximum amounts of time that must/can be spent at the original law school before one can transfer?
Is it considered acceptable to apply and enter one school with the intention to (asap) transfer to another school (preferred choice)?
Are most/all/some transfers accepted? What %age are and are not accepted?
thanks very much for all answers.

Law School Admissions / Is a 1.0 - 2.0 GPA too low?
« on: September 27, 2010, 03:50:49 PM »

I didn`t really go to university to study and subsequently didn`t do too well, in class anyway.

I`m now a mature person in their late 30`s and want to go law school. I am a reformed character, as such, and have worked for the last 12 years quite successfully. My LSAT scores are looking at being around 155.

Can I realistically hope to get an offer from a Tier 4 school? I am banking on work and life experience and have just started as a legal assistant at a law firm, that (and the $10 ph wage!) shows that I am serious.

Thank you

Studying for the LSAT / Early scores, possible?

In the older version of one of the lsat bibles I have it says that you can call up and pay $10 and get your results a week early, is this still the case?

Law School Admissions / Disclose non-conviction misdemeanor?
« on: September 24, 2010, 07:23:31 AM »

Extremely stupidly, I was detained shoplifting in a dept store by security guards, a policeman attended, I was given a court date, police no-show, non-conviction of lowest misdemeanor.

This took place this year (2010) and I am applying for 2011 Fall entry to law school.

I am assuming that not mentioning this is potentially far worse than bringing it up but will it harm my applications?

No other blemishes.

Thank you.
