1L job search / 1L Summer Clerkships

Hello,

I am currently putting together my application package for my 1L job search and I have a general question regarding judicial clerkships for 1Ls with State/Federal judges.

What are the positives gained from these summer clerkships? Does one develop your legal writing, work alongside other clerks and the Judge him/herself? What general experiences would I have if I decided to clerk?
