Law Firms / AU International Law Review
« on: August 11, 2008, 11:28:49 AM »
I'm a junior staffer for American University International Law Review who wrote my comment this summer. ILR is well respected -- http://www.wcl.american.edu/journal/ilr/ -- in the field of international law, but how well does its reputation translate to big firms. Does anyone know which firms are enthusiastic about it? Relatedly, does anyone have an idea about how a non-law review journal that is top-ranked compares to a school's official law review?
Thanks.

Law Firms / Thompson Hine
« on: August 11, 2008, 11:25:55 AM »
I'm going to interview at Thompson Hine for a summer associate position. Does anyone know anything relevant about the firm relating to what they look for, their interests, and whether it is a good place to work. Much appreciated.

2L job search / Disappointed in OCI - Read this instead
« on: August 07, 2008, 11:46:24 AM »
I'm a little disappointed about how few interviews I've gotten after applying to twenty-nine places (for the first week). Specifically, I am a 2L at American University, in the top twenty-five percent, and am on the international law journal. Despite this, I only got one interview (Thompson Hine). Is this normal? If not, what should I do now to ensure that I have a job next summer? In addition, how many more places should I apply to/how many interviews is a *good* number so that I am playing it safe?
