Law School Admissions / Cut off time to apply ( when should I apply)
« on: July 22, 2011, 11:46:35 AM »

What would be the cut-off month in order to start law school in Sept 2013?  I actually won't be graduating until the end of the Summer 2013 ( August).  Is it then just too late for me?  If not, how early should I apply?

This was sent to me from For people of color :

Many of you on this board may have already heard of this program, but for those unfamiliar with it, it sounds like a wonderful opportunity. It is well worth it. I applied last week... It is essentially for urm.

Good luck everyone!

Black Law Students / Black/Race & everything between /
« on: January 02, 2010, 07:52:27 PM »

I read a posting in the Minority forum stating that Northern Africans do not fall as URM, so here's my dilemma, I am Northern African (Algeria), and while I am fully aware that Northern African fall under the category of Caucasian, I feel that it does not capture the majority of Northern Africans as Northern Africans are extremely mixed race people, I consider myself a moor and my family is a mix of Berber and Kabile. Being labeled as white, is the biggest hype I have ever heard of! I consider myself to be a woman of color, bottom line. While I realize, I could pass for just about anything under the rainbow (I have been mistaken for Iranian, Latina, and even Pakistani but never white) , I want to represent myself as accurately as possible. I also do not want to misrepresent myself as an African American or White. But I do not consider myself white. Any advice on how to approach the subject of race on my statement ? I am including link of my profile. Any feedback on how  to tackle this subject in the way that makes most sense is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and god bless!

Choosing the Right Law School / Thoughts on UC Irvine School of Law?
« on: December 31, 2009, 02:12:00 PM »
The school is not accredited by the ABA but according to Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, the school will fervently seek its ABA accreditation "ASAP". One attractive factor, is that the school offers a generous financial/scholarship package. Any advice?

Law School Admissions / How early should I apply?
« on: December 30, 2009, 12:15:40 AM »
I am a sophomore in the process of transferring to Boston University. By September 2010, I will be entering as a Junior.
My question is how soon should I apply to law school to be given priority consideration and start law school by Fall 2012?
Also, how early should I prepare for/take the LSAT?

Thank you,
