General Board / day in the life of biglaw

What is it really like? People say the work is mind-numbingly boring and soul crushing, but I want to know more about the nature of the work. Is most of the work finance-related and require a firm grasp of business/accounting? Are there folks who genuinely enjoy it? Anyone!?

What was generally considered more bearable, biglaw or ibanking (in conditions pre-financial crisis)?

Recommendations / What does the form ask

I haven't decided on my recommenders yet, and seeing what the form looks like may help me in deciding who to ask for my letters.

Can anyone describe what the form ask? Are there specific questions or does the recommender have flexibility to write in free form? Does the recommender have to attest to his/her belief in the student's ability to succeed in SPECIFICALLY law school, or can it be a general description of the student's past performance?

On a related note, I have a couple of recommenders who wrote letters for me for summer internships/fellowships. Would these letters, with maybe a little tweaking, be acceptable? Or should they be completely re-written?

If it matters, I'm shooting for top 14 schools.
