Wait List / WAITLIST AT LSU...

Waitlisted at LSU

Number 1 Choice!

I've sent in an additional LOR, a LOCI (where I said I would pay deposit and tuition immediately... pathetic, yes I know, but it's my number 1 choice), and had multiple people call on my behalf. Is there ANYTHING else I can do? I was thinking about e-mailing the dean of admissions (who I know) but I don't want to annoy them or irritate them.

I've been told that they should be going to the waitlist soon, and then I was told today that they're deciding when/if to go to the waitlist. I figured I could e-mail the dean and just inquire about the progress, but I don't want to seem pushy. Any t houghts on how to go about this? or anything else I can do?

Law School Applications / Self Selected URM?

Ok, so I am definitely curious about this. I'm American Indian (like 1/8th or 1/16th), but I am unsure if this is appropriate to select in applications. Where would this go? In the ethnicity portion that's optional? Does this really help? Do I have to provide any kind of documentation to the law school or anything?

Law School Applications / Realisticly, what are the chances?

Ok, what are my chances? I am applying this weekend, just took the LSAT for the second time (I was sick in December and couldn't take the test). I am a senior at LSU, have a 3.01 GPA and I got a 151 LSAT the first time I took it. I'm hoping to increase my score at least a couple of points, but if not, that's ok too, I guess.

I'm applying to these schools:

Arkansas Fayetteville
Arkansas Little Rock
LSU
Ole Miss (fall and summer)
Mississippi College
South Texas College of Law

Please be honest, but don't be mean

. I don't really trust law school numbers because people could over exaggerate their scores, not everyone is on there, etc., so I figured people on here would be my best bet. Also, on one of the applications, it asks if they should hold my application until the new LSAT score comes out, should I do that? It's Mississippi College by the way. Thanks for all your input!

Studying for the LSAT / Just took first practice test.... EEK!!!

Hey all,

I just took my first full-length, timed practice diagnostic test today at the prep center where I'm taking my prep class for the LSAT. I have never looked at anything related to the LSAT, and I went in very, very cold and just answered the questions and tried to figure them out, not having a clue what I was doing.

I am taking the prep class and also planning to study for 3 hours a day on the days I am not in class, in order to prepare for the September LSAT. I got a 141 on the practice test (cringe). I'm shooting for a 160+ on the actual LSAT, is that possible with this low of a score on my first diagnostic? Do any of you have advice on studying for the LSAT, in addition to me taking the LSAT prep class? I'm starting to freak out that I'm not going to be able to score that well!! Please help me!!!

Law School Applications / So when should I do what?

Ok, so I've been reading up on things I need to do before I apply to law schools, and I'm kind of confused. Can anyone help me out with what I need to do, when I need to do it, and how I go about doing some of these things. I'm registering for the September LSAT soon, and I am assuming that I should probably start applying to law schools in December/January. Thanks so much!

Hi! I'm graduating next May, hopefully with somewhere between a 3.1 and 3.2 GPA. My GPA is so low because I partied way too hard my freshman year and I had quite a few deaths in my family in my sophomore year, and I fully recognize all of this to be my fault, so unneccessary comments are not needed. I have steadily increased my semester GPA's. I'm taking the LSAT in September, and I am predicting (from previous practice tests) around a 160 or higher. My top two schools are LSU and Ole Miss. Would these schools be ridiculously out of my reach? Obviously, I will apply to other "lower tier" law schools, in addition, but I would love to be accepted into these two.
