Where should I go next fall? / anyone else want to get away from parents?« on: March 28, 2006, 12:57:48 PM »
I feel kind of childish with this concern, but I can't be alone here. The best school I got into is in my home city and state, which I love, but I am dying to escape the wrath of my family and old friends for awhile. Is that reason enough for anyone else to go away for law school?

Dumb question I know. Do most folks do it by email? A hardcopy letter seems excessive, but more official I suppose. I want to withdraw from a few schools and am curious how to best do it.

Did any Boalt applicants decline to have "student members of the admission committee" review thier file? (I didn't) I'd be curious to know how much influence the student members have and what they do to get on it. (I believe I remember reading somewhere that there is only one student on the adcomm per year--but I may be wrong) Anyone have any answers for me? Thanks in advance

I realize that, with a few exceptions, we are minorities at any school we attend. However- I'm curious to know about the experiences folks have being in the extreme minority. I'm especially wondering if there are folks out there who have not necessarily had bad experiences. Thoughts?

I wonder if CU's new building will move it up in the USNWR rankings. Sure, they haven't budged for quite some time, but I know they caught a lot of flack from the ABA for having such poor facilities. The new building may contribute to the overall quality of the school. Thoughts?
