Where should I go next fall? / 3.51/148 Should I even apply?
« on: October 18, 2009, 02:28:02 PM »
Target Schools: Howard, UDC, University of Baltimore, Catholic, George Mason, George Washington

Tentative Plan: Apply early to the first three above and retake the LSAT in December in hopes of improving my score to have a chance at the last three above.

Also, I had a 3.75 GPA but LSAC recalcuated my GPA to 3.51 based on some courses I took like 10 years ago. So I guess the 3.51 is what counts but do law schools see both GPAS?

I'm currently enrolled in a PS prep course. My diagnostic score on day one of the course was 136. I took the test for the second time today and I still only scored 141. I'm currently registered for the September LSAT. But if my score only increased by five points in the first three weeks of the course, is it reasonable to think I can bring it up another 15 points over the next month?

Also, is it reasonable to expect my speed to improve dramatically over the next month? The time factor is killing me. I typically run out of time with about 7-8 questions remaining on each section.

Recommendations / LOR Letter Description for General Use?

I intend to use the same LORs for all of the schools I apply to. So under the letter description should I just put "personal statement"?

Studying for the LSAT / Is ACE good for LSAT test preparation?
« on: April 08, 2009, 01:24:08 AM »
I was thinking of taking a PowerScore course but a friend of mine said that he could lend me the LSAT prep dvds put out by ACE. I'm tempted to use these and the Powerscore Bibles as my sole source of prep for the LSAT. Is anybody familiar with ACE? Is this a good plan or would it be wiser to try to take the full length course with PowerScore?

I'm thinking of registering for a prep course with Powerscore that goes from April-June. I'm trying to decide if I should take the LSAT in June or September. Is there anything wrong with taking a prep course now and then having some time left over during the summer to self-study for the September LSAT?

Also, has anybody taken the weekend course with Powerscore? Is it a good alternative to the full length course?
