Minority Topics / Why is it considered acceptable...

While reading some of the material posted here, I was struck by something.  Why is it considered acceptable to post unsubstantiated comments, anecdotes, and generalizations about "white people," but no other group?  Why is it assumed that because someone is white that they benefit from legacy status, are a racist, or have ancestors that benefited directly or indirectly from slavery or Jim Crow (before you answer, remember that all of the comm bloc refugees from the late 70's and early 80's were both economically disadvantaged and "white")?  I'm just curious.

Non-Traditional Students / Law Enforcement to Law School - any thoughts?

Has anyone here made the transition from law enforcement to law school?  I'm turning in my badge and gun for a laptop and casebook later this year, and was wondering if there were any distinct advantages or disadvantages to having worked on the "messy" side of legal employment.

Where should I go next fall? / Wake Forest or Washington and Lee?

Two small, private, Southeastern schools in small towns.  Money is similar, and I wouldn't mind settling down near either one so location is not really a factor.  Can anyone give me a good reason to pick one over the other?
