Current Law Students / Re-take?
« on: May 12, 2009, 12:25:20 PM »
Am I even allowed to take the LSAT as a law student?  If I am eligible, my concern is that LSAT prep will interfere with my first-year studies.  Is this a realistic fear?  Is the risk of re-taking the LSAT in school worth it, if it leads to a concrete job prospect later on?

Anyone have any thoughts on these programs, in particular the collaborative note-taking functions?

Choosing the Right Law School / San Diego Living?
« on: April 15, 2009, 10:42:25 AM »
I'm trying to get some feedback on the different neighborhoods surrounding TJSL, i.e., safety, price, public transportation, distance from the school.

Mission Valley, La Jolla, Old Town, La Mesa, Kensington, downtown, Clairmont, Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach are some I thought of.  Looking to hear from current or former students, accepted students, and San Diego residents.

*Again, just looking for feedback about living situations.

Choosing the Right Law School / Univ of San Fransisco - Status checker
« on: February 05, 2009, 12:01:09 PM »
My USF status checker says "Decision Rendered". Does anyone else have a similar one, or did anyone else's say this when they got an acceptance letter? I've heard that some receive acceptances through email and others through snail mail.

I submitted my FAFSA two weeks ago, and reviewed my SAR online.  Here's my question:  How soon after submitting my FAFSA do the schools I list on it receive my SAR (or any other relevant information)?  Should I contact the financial aid offices directly?  Basically, I need to delete some schools in order to make room for some additional school codes.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Resident Status and Tuition
« on: January 30, 2009, 02:02:05 PM »
I have a question that I would like to have verified by public opinion.  Can I consider myself a resident of a certain state after completing one year of school,i.e., pay nonresident tuition first year, then pay resident tuition second and third year?  I know the answer may be obvious.

Law School Admissions / LSAC GPA vs. UG GPA
« on: October 30, 2008, 11:44:32 PM »
Like everyone else, I've noticed some differences in my LSAC GPA and UG GPA.  For the record, which one should I use when filling out applications?  Do law AdComs look unfavorably if there are any discrepencies on my application?

I was wondering if anyone was willing to trade Personal statements for revisions?
