So I am taking the NY bar in July, and I am signed up for Barbri. Now people are also telling me I should take a nine day (six days in May, 3 days in July) Kaplan PMBR course for the MBE.
Is this Kaplan course necessary? The Kaplan rep was trying to get me to use the Kaplan bar review package, but I don't know anyone who has ever done that, so I'm sticking with Barbri....but should I shell out $1000 for this Kaplan nine day course?

I'm confused on what I should do...I've had T-Mobile for almost 4 years...but it doesn't work at all where I go to law school. I see everyone else walking around talking on their Verizon and Cingular phones... does anyone know if either of these companies is decent?
I don't really want to switch, but my boyfriend tells me it's dumb I pay like $50 a month for a phone I can't use at school, where I usually am about 10 hours a day.
I really know nothing about either company.

so i am driving home and i pass a school bus that does not have its stop sign out or anything. the bus driver starts honking at me and screaming at me. i say "you didn't have your stop sign out" and then he puts it out, and looks at my license plate.
can i get a ticket if he reports my license to the police? because i didn't do anything wrong. he may not have realized he didn't have his stop sign out, but he didn't.

I work two jobs, I don't care about either anymore. I am sick of most of my co-workers and of the people I deal with.
One of my jobs is in the lingerie dept. in Macy's. I took it for extra cash, I get to see lots of old women in their underwear. It's not such a thrill. My friends and family keep telling me to quit and just work one job until school starts, I'm not quite sure why I haven't done that yet.
Is my apathy normal? Can you have senioritis when you haven't been a senior for 3 years?

Is this a good computer for LS?
If anyone has it...is it quiet? I have an older Dell laptop and the fan is annoyingly loud. If I took it to a class with me, people would hate me for the whooshing sound it would make the whole time.

This is a thread to complain about anything that makes you really angry.
I, for instance, am on the brink of strangling my co-worker. My boss left work early to go to the doctor's with his pregnant wife. I have a ton of accounting work sitting in front of me, that has to be done.
The problem? The girl I work with is supposedly a trained accountant with Wall Street experience, and she has dumped all of her work - entering invoices, doing the books on me - who has never taken an accounting course or had any interest in this kind of work.
I was hired to do work on the computer server and am only a part-time employee, but I feel like I should be calling myself the accountant. She doesn't do much all day, except talk on the phone to customers once in awhile, and cry when something goes wrong. I have to do all of the financial work myself....while she just sits around on her computer. She is paid more than twice what I am.
She sits in the back in her office listening to internet radio while I sit out front, do all the accounting work, deal with any customer that comes in, and answer all incoming phone calls.
I am just really annoyed.

How much do you guys plan on spending on books each semester?
Hofstra estimates I'll be spending $900 a year. I was just wondering if that is the norm...
I'm going to buy everything used if it's not a mess.

I'm scared everyone is going to be smarter than me and I will flunk out.

So I just found out I am getting laid off from my job this week, and I have been applying for some part-time jobs so I can make some cash before law school starts. My plan is to just save enough to pay my bills for the year so that I don't have to work. Where ever I decide to go, I have to do pretty well to keep my scholarship money and I don't want to take on a job and law school at the same time.
Tonight, however, my father got in a fight with me because I don't plan on working as a 1L. He basically said I'm worthless if I don't have a job. I had a job in college, but it was real flexible and on-campus and didn't affect me too much. My Dad though thinks I should be working at nights, after class. The thought of doing that seems crazy to me.
Am I right in thinking that trying to work on top of first year work is just too much? Is my Dad just an idiot?
