Minority Topics / what race to mark on LS apps?
« on: December 01, 2005, 11:34:23 AM »
For any type of applicatons I usually just put asian but technically I am half chinese and half west indian (cant narrow to one country there), so should I just conform to what I usually do with my race or should I check other and write asian/west indian?
Will putting both races give me an adtantage over just putting one race?
thanks

Wanted to know if:
St. Johns
Fordham
New York Law School

take the average or the higher score if I take the LSAT twice? Or do I need to beat a spread for them to take the higher score?

im looking into their PT programs as I will have to work while in law school.

thanks

I am going to put off law school for like 2-3 years and do an MS in EE since itll be mostly free and i need time to pay back my undergrad loans.

with that said the earliest I will be applying to law school is for Fall 2008.
Will it look bad if I take the LSAT now either feb 2006 or june 2006 but then apply in spring of 2008?

The LSAC account last for 5 years so that will be within the time limit of it but do the scores last that long and will the schools I apply to question why I took the LSAT and then waited 2 years to apply to law school?

any comments will be appreciated.

thanks

Where should I go next fall? / LOR, how long are they good for?
« on: October 29, 2005, 11:09:44 AM »
Well the LSAC account lasts for 5years after paying for it. Say I have my LOR sent in now cus I was interested in Fall 2006 admission to LS, and then say Id rather go do a masters right now and then try LS again in about 2years or around 2008, ill still be registered with LSAC, but will the LOR's I have on file be useful for appyling to LS for Fall 2008 or Fall 2009?, im just kinda asking if the length in time between when the LOR were written and when I'm applying going to play a factor when the LS admissions reads them?

thanks

I wanted to know say I apply to LS now and get rejected, would that hurt me for the future if say I decided to go and do a masters, possibly pull up the gpa and then retake the LSAT. If then applying to the same schools but with higher numbers, would the fact that I already applied once and got rejected affect the new decision?

Where should I go next fall? / my chances for St. Johns?
« on: October 24, 2005, 06:46:56 PM »
150 lsat
3.09 LSAC, 3.25 cumulative
engineering
asian male

do I have a chance at St. Johns?

I will also be applying to Fordham and New York Law School
I didn't feel I would go up all that much if I retook the LSAT in Dec so I guess I'll just stick with this score.

any insite will be appreciated.
