General Board / Hiring timeline, JD/MBA

I just finished my 1L year and am considering moving into the JD/MBA program. As a rising 2L im applying for BigLaw firm jobs as a summer associate for 2009 which ideally transfers into a full-time offer upon graduation.
I know its that much more difficult to get hired by these big firms during your 3L year.
My question is;
If I switch to the joint degree program, my graduation date becomes 2011. 12 months from now will I be able to reapply to BigLaw Firms as a 2L again. I would much rather be in the 2L applicant pool where lots of offers are made than the 3L applicant pool where a small number are made.
Answers? comments?
