Law School Admissions / Food for Thought
« on: December 08, 2008, 05:04:09 PM »
Not real food, unfortunately  :D  Came across this today, found it strangely applicable to law school applications/acceptances/rejections:

"Donít try to make life a mathematics problem with yourself in the center and everything coming out equal. When youíre good, bad things can still happen. And if youíre bad, you can still be lucky."

Law School Admissions / Chit chat about the application process
« on: December 08, 2008, 05:12:24 AM »
So...we have an Accepted and Rejected thread, but nothing for just general applications talk.  Anyone have any qualms?  General thoughts?

I, for one, am nervous about applying too late.  Granted, all my applications are in, but I kind of expected to have this all taken care of sooner.

General Off-Topic Board / Favorite foods?
« on: November 08, 2008, 07:13:20 AM »
I'm looking for new ideas for things to cook, so what are everyone's favorite foods?  Breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, snacks...anything's fair game  :)

Studying for the LSAT / Ridiculous earplugs questions
« on: September 08, 2008, 11:11:48 AM »
Ok, so I know on the LSAC website it says that you can't bring earplugs to the test.

My problem is in my class, a new guy just transferred in and is a ridiculously loud underliner.  I know that sounds really crazy, but it's true.  And not only is he abnormally loud, he underlines EVERYTHING.  The RC passages, the questions, the answer choices, LR, all of it.  It is the most distracting thing I (and everyone else in my class) have ever heard.

I know we're going to be in different test centers because I made a point of finding out where he's taking.  Do you think it would be ok to wear earplugs during our next 2 class practice tests, or should I not so I can get used to what I seriously doubt it'll sound like when I take the real test? (as a side note- I have taken the test before and the normal page flipping noises and markings don't bother me- it's just this guy)

Haha...thanks for any input!

Studying for the LSAT / Does anyone have good advice for RC?
« on: September 08, 2008, 07:22:37 AM »
Does anyone have really good advice for how to do well in reading comp?  Untimed I can usually get almost every question, but when I take it timed I'm missing between 1-3 per passage.  Any suggestions, besides gradually cutting down my untimed to timed time?

Thanks all!

Hey everyone-
I have two very rough drafts of two very different PS topics, and I was wondering if anyone would would be willing to take a look at both of them and tell me which direction to go?  They're both pretty short, I think 3 pages total.
I'm also willing to edit your personal statements if you take a look at mine!  Please PM me if you're interested in helping!

Thanks everyone!

Law School Admissions / Addendum - regarding GPA
« on: August 12, 2008, 02:01:30 PM »
I'm working on an addendum stating that even though my GPA might lower than some people applying to law school, my GPA is however above average for my major at my school (and it happens to not be a hard science, engineering, or math, so I thought that it should be explained).  I'm having a bit of a writer's block...any advice on how to write this type of addendum?

Thanks in advance for any help!  I really appreciate it
