Law School Applications / LSAT discrepancy addendum« on: October 25, 2008, 09:21:36 PM »
My LSAT score jumped from a 159 to a 169. I know I should write an addendum to explain a 10 point jump, but what do they want to hear? I don't have any specific horrible thing that happened to me on the June exam, the October exam just went much better for me. Any specific things I should make sure to say/not to say?

A few schools that I'm applying to have optional additional essays...if I don't have a particularly meaningful or brilliant answer to the question, is it better to just not do the essay? I don't want to look like I rushed through the app or don't really want to attend the school, but I also don't want them to see a lame writing sample. Do those additional essays really matter?

A lot of apps ask you which other schools you're applying to...should you be honest about this? I'm applying to at least ten schools (a few reaches, a few safeties, and some in between), so will it look bad if I have that many names on my list?

My Dad and I are taking a trip to Chicago in a few weeks to visit some of the law schools...any suggestions on which ones give a worthwhile tour, or general tips on Chicago area schools?

Studying for the LSAT / Question About Re-taking the LSAT and the Admissions Process« on: July 03, 2008, 10:13:58 PM »
I didn't do as well as I was expecting on this LSAT, so I would like to re-take it in October. Since most schools have rolling admissions and begin the process in September/early October, do I need to wait until I get my second LSAT score to apply to these schools, or should I apply as early as possible and have them wait for my second score?

I got my LSAT back today...a very disappointing 159. I have a 3.53 GPA from Miami-Ohio with a major in Political Science. I would like to stay in the Midwest or Washington DC, but I would consider venturing a little farther than that. Do you guys have any good advice on some schools for me?
