Current Law Students / Study Abroad
« on: April 04, 2007, 11:09:39 AM »
I just got accepted to go abroad for fall semester of next year. Problem is, I'm now a 1L so that would be right during OCI. I'm in the middle of the class, so I'm thinking maybe OCI wouldn't be that beneficial anyways? I really want to go but am worried I wont' get a summer job! Thoughts? Thanks!

Job Search / Transcripts

When their website says to send transcripts is that just first semester grades or undergrad as well? (I'm leaning towards they will probably specify if it is meant to include undergrad) Thoughts?

Current Law Students / multiple colleges attended?

Will it look bad on my application to list that I went to two universities (i transfered) but also took classes at two junior colleges so I could graduate faster?

Current Law Students / Law School Schedule
« on: October 13, 2005, 12:04:12 PM »
Can anyone tell me what a typical schedule is for a first year law student? I've heard that you get no choice in it. 5 days a week, early or late, etc. ?? Thanks!

Financial Aid / Cancelling/Transfering a stafford loan?
« on: May 17, 2006, 11:48:01 AM »
I've looked on the internet, and I'm going to call them on my lunch break, but might as well throw it out here too. What if you change your mind and decide on another school? (I might soon) I've already done the loan stuff for one school. Will it be bad if I cancell it and do it again for another school? Is it possible?

Choosing the Right Law School / Second thoughts on my decision
« on: May 13, 2006, 06:54:10 PM »
so i'm on the WL at ucla and still pending at USC, but other than that I had pretty much decided to go to BU. They gave me 15k/year, would be a good experience, and a high-rated school. But now i'm having huge second thoughts about moving so far away. it started with people telling me that it will be very important to go in-state, since BU doesn't have a lot of national pull. then i started thinking about how hard it is for me to make friends and all the great friends/family/everything i have here. So now i'm thinking Davis might be a better option. (i already declined hastings so no longer an option) It's only 2 hours away from home, still a good school, and in-state.

I sent a letter of continued interest to USC. At the end it says, "I hope that you will take this information into considering, and blah blah blah."

I wrote consideration!! i swear I did!  but I must have let spell check do something or maybe I just messed up, but I sent the letter priority mail today. Oh my God I'm dying here, should I call and tell them to not open my letter or something? Help!

I am writing a letter of continued interest, and it sounds good so i want to use it at two schools. (One still under consideration and one waitlisted.) Is there any chance in the world that they would ever compare and realize that the wording is very similar? (two schools in the same city, hint hint.)

Incoming 1Ls / Cancelling a lease if you get in off a WL?
« on: April 15, 2006, 02:38:55 PM »
I'm planning on BU, but if a small miracle happened and I was WL at ucla or usc and got in late summer, I think I would change my plans. But of course I'll be setting up housing in Boston since i'm 99% sure at this point that I won't be getting in anywhere else. Anyone know what happens if you need to cancel a lease before you move in?
