Incoming 1Ls / What e-mail software do you use?
« on: August 02, 2006, 06:23:09 PM »
I'm used to manually logging into my hotmail/gmail/school accounts, but I'm sure there's a better way. I just don't know which route to go. My school reccomends Eudora or Outlook, and I'm leaning towards Outlook, but I was wondering what some of your thoughts are on this.

Incoming 1Ls / Great promotional video for Kirkland Ellis

I love the first guy, who basically admits to working all day, except during dinner. The second guy's quote about "on the balance, my life is balanced" is also great.

I'm pretty excited about their core duo tablet offering. I wonder whether it will have the same sluggish 4200 rpm hard drive as the previous tablet. Anyone else considering this model?

This thread is dedicated to Oingo and the letter $.

Choosing the Right Law School / GMU vs Northwestern
« on: April 21, 2006, 03:45:29 PM »
I know we're talking about a huge difference in ranking here. I know that the opportunities will be better for most people coming out of NU. But I live in VA. GMU costs 13k a year; NU costs 39k. That's a 75k difference over 3 years. That's a big deal, right?

Incoming 1Ls / Choosing an area of law to study
« on: April 10, 2006, 08:55:53 AM »
I want to choose a course of study that will leave me with the option to pursue a clerkship or biglaw after LS. Any ideas?

How have you guys decided on what you want to study?

Choosing the Right Law School / Who's going to GMU?
« on: April 07, 2006, 08:56:09 AM »
Just got w/l'ed at NU today, so it looks like I'm GMU bound, barring a miracle pity-admit.

So, yeah. Who else is going to GMU next year? Where are you from? Whatcha gonna study?

I'm from Va, so if you have any questions about the area, ask away.
I'm signed up for general law, as I'm not 100% decided on what my main interests are.
I'm pretty excited considering the painful slew of rejections and waitlists I've had this cycle.

Law School Admissions / ARG (NU technical difficulties)

I can't open the pdf that my Northwestern decision is in. It says the file was either damaged or is an improper file type.
I can open other pdfs and I tried on two different computers. I guess I should be happy, though; the 3 decisions on LSN from the last 2 days have been waitlists or dings.  :-\
