Incoming 1Ls / Private loans without home equity?
« on: March 02, 2005, 10:59:30 AM »
How easy is it to get a private loan (about 30k/yr) without owning a home? I spoke with a Chase financial advisor today and he has no idea how ppl get loans without home equity. Is he 1) completely incompetent or 2) correct, in which case im screwed? Any advice would be appreciated.

Choosing the Right Law School / Fordham is taking their sweet-ass time.

My app was sent SEPT 30th, but somehow they misplaced my LSDAS report until Nov 3 (assuming b/c according to LSAC it was sent oct 5th). So i miss my EA deadline, and my file has been complete since early-mid november... Does it sound like a ding to you??? Anyone else not receive a decision yet?

if it means anything, i've been accepted to Boston University, George Washington U and Cardozo.

So far I've been accepted to Boston University, George Washington, and Cardozo... I've applied to Fordham on Sept 30th, but somehow they havent received my LSDAS report until November, so i missed the EA deadline and havent heard from them yet. I'm 90% sure that I want to work in NYC, so Fordham would be my top choice (unless i get a pleasant surprise from Cornell (deferred) or Michigan. What do you guys think about employment prospects in NYC having gradutaed from BU or GW? Is it far worse than graduating from Fordham? Are BU and GW's placement rates in NYC substantially lower because a) less students WANT to work in NYC, or b) NYC firms dont hire from them as much? Is it worth attending a more nationally reputable school such as BU or GW over Fordham anyway? Thanx in advance...

BTW, between BU and GW, which school do you guys prefer? GW has something like 14% placement in NY, NJ, CT and BU has something like 30% in NY NJ and CT....

1 more thing... did everyone fill out their FAFSA yet? When's it due?

In at Cardozo-Yeshiva.... NICE~! 1 down, 8 more to go....

The dean himself called me... strange.

Law School Admissions / question....

I've already sent all applications out, but out of nowhere an old professor recently sent in a Letter of Recommendation. I didnt expect him to send it in, so i found another prof to do so... what happens to this 4th LOR? does my file get updated and new reports sent to each school? Or do they discard it and keep the original 3???

I just got an email from my undergrad saying that they JUST sent in the Dean's certifications for 2 schools I gave them over A MONTH AGO~!!!! (brooklyn and boston U).... on top of that, they f-in lost my dean's certification for Cornell which i gave them 3 weeks ago.... I'm gonna kill em... I am.

Law School Admissions / Chances of getting into at least 1 school...
« on: October 08, 2004, 11:14:44 PM »
I applied to Boston College (38% chance of accept), Boston U (55%), fordham (50%) and GW (50%)... does anyone know how to calculate my chances of getting into at least 1 of these schools? Does it seem likely that I would? (assuming apps/PS/LORs are ok)

I also applied to Michigan (about 15%), Cornell (about 18%), Cardozo (90ish), and brooklyn(97ish)... does my list seem ok? do you suggest I apply to more safeties/reaches? Thanx.

How do you put in your second major? There's only one line for major...what do you do if you're double majoring?
