Pittsburgh / Here we go...
« on: March 23, 2006, 07:44:54 PM »
I have decided on Pitt, so I am commenting on this board---

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Law Prep Boot Camps
« on: May 18, 2006, 03:39:59 PM »
I have decided I am going to go to one.  I figure it can't hurt anything and maybe it can help.  A little more debt isn't going to make any difference anyway.

So, I have narrowed it down to Law Preview, BarBri law school prep program or the Law Masters series (rec by Anna Ivey)

Any advice on which one is best, (or for some of you, the least worst).

Is anyone else enrolling in any?

Where should I go next fall? / How much do the NEW rankings matter
« on: March 31, 2006, 02:19:58 AM »
So after deciding on Pitt, results are released and they are falling, specifically behind the other two schools I have gotten into--and withdrawn from.

so does this even matter.  Should I say screw the rankings and not overanalyze it

maybe I should hang myself b/c I didn't break 170 and am not going to a t-14

either way, I am cheering for the Republicans in the mid-term elections----it seems whomever I cheer for or pick lately ends up losing---so maybe I should just go with it

Where should I go next fall? / Using leverage any way you can
« on: March 02, 2006, 01:26:08 PM »
My husband was just accepted to Pitt grad school and I havent heard from the law school yet.  Can I let the law school know he was accepted and that they are my first choice, or is that completely not cool?  Would letting them know ruin chances for scholarships, since they would know they can get me with just an acceptance?

Law School Applications / to apply or not to apply--HELP
« on: December 14, 2005, 06:23:05 PM »
It has come to that point where I am totally freaked out that I only applied to schools who cannot wait to send me a rejection letter.  So I am thinking of applying to a few more schools.  The great question, and it has been asked before, is where?  Here are a few I am looking at.  I would love to know anyone's thoughts on subjects such as my chances ( i know you are all tired of that) chances of transferring out and comparisons of the schools --you can check out where I have already applied to and my stats at lsn.

American
Catholic
U of Maryland
U of Baltimore
New England School of Law
Suffolk
Northeastern
Hofstra
Syracuse
St. John's
Seton Hall
Duquese
U of Pitt
Vermont

I cannot and will not apply to all of these---my husband might just kill me.

Law School Applications / To get ready for August
« on: December 07, 2005, 11:41:08 PM »
This probably isn't the place to put this topic, but I don't know where else to put it so here it is. What are some good book to read before starting law school?  Im not working over Christmas break and could use some useful reading in case any school ever decides to show me some love.

« on: November 29, 2005, 02:03:28 PM »
I haven't been notified that I am complete at Brooklyn, Fordham, Cardozo or GW.  Should I contact their repective admissions offices, or just wait and worry?
