Temple / Order of the Coif - Why not Temple?
« on: June 20, 2007, 06:03:39 AM »
Why doesn't Temple Law have a chapter of Order of the Coif?  And, does it matter?

The people who graduate from a member school like to list this honor on their profiles. I'm sure it's not going to have a big impact on anyone's career. But, it's frustrating to see Villanova with Order of the Coif while Temple is not a member.  Maybe the faculty at Temple have some sort of philosophical objection to the Order of the Coif.

Temple / Anyone living in Chestnut Hill or Mt. Airy?
« on: May 29, 2007, 02:14:24 PM »
Are there any Temple Law students or alumni (like you, perhaps) living in Chestnut Hill (where I will be living) or Mt. Airy or adjacent neighborhoods?

I'll be one block from the Wyndmoor station on the R7 regional rail line. How reliable are the SEPTA trains through there?  Do they fall behind schedule often or just plain break down? Will I be able to tolerate the ride from there to Temple for three years?

Temple / Notable Temple Law Alumni
« on: April 26, 2007, 11:35:46 AM »
Does anyone have a good list of Temple Law alumni in prominent or impressive positions?

I'm thinking of elected government positions, or important or interesting appointed positions, or high ranking agency officials (federal, state or local), or corporate executives, or equity partners in major law firms, or judges at various levels. But, there may be other notable alumni in other fields/positions too.

Here's my own list of current Pennsylvania state legislature members:

Pennsylvania State Senate

Patrick M. Browne '93 (R) Senate District 16

Vincent J. Fumo (D) '72 Senate District 1

John C. Rafferty Jr. '88 (R)  Senate District 44

Pennsylvania House of Representatives

Kathy Manderino '89 (Democrat)
Montgomery County (Part)
Philadelphia County (Part)

Bryan R. Lentz '93 (Democrat)
Delaware County (Part)
