Keep in mind that when mostly Irish and Italian neighborhoods in NYC wanted to keep their communities homogenous, they were accused of racism. 2

With all the talk about the LSAT reporting method, it got me thinking about how the GPA policy could be changed. I was thinking that there should be some time period (5 years, 8 years?) after which the law schools no longer have to report UGPA to the ABA, and correspondingly, to USNEWS.
It just seems ridiculous, based on what I've seen on LSN, that a 30-year-old candidate with a 177, a ph.D in molecular biology, and numerous awards should be kept out of the top law schools because he got a crappy GPA in undergrad when he was 19. Thoughts? |
