Hi all. I'm a 3L, and I just wrapped up my summer with a firm, which offered me full time employment after graduation, as well as the opportunity to be a law clerk for them during the school year. I'm working three days a week for them. My question is to those of you who have done this: in your experience, what is the difference between being a summer associate and a law clerk? For what it's worth, this firm gave me a real work load over the summer, so maybe being a law clerk won't be much different. I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. Thanks for your input!

General Board / Law Review Managing Editor - worth the time or not?
« on: January 31, 2007, 08:35:12 PM »
Law Review Board elections are coming up. I'm batting around the idea of running. But I'm debating whether or not it will be worth my time. I have a job already. I'm probably going to be published. Good grades. So do I really need it? Can anyone give me a good reason for taking on a managing editor position? Thanks.

2L job search / Phone call from firm
« on: September 16, 2006, 10:22:21 PM »
I had my call back interview with my top-choice firm on Sept. 7th, and I know that the firm completed all of its second round interviews this past Thursday. Last night (Friday) at 5:30 pm, the hiring partner left a voicemail on my home answering machine asking me to give him a call. Do you guys think this is good news? Is there any reason, besides offering me a position, that a hiring partner would call me on a Friday night at 5:30? I tried calling him back, but he was gone for the weekend.
