Studying for the LSAT / Kaplan LSAT Book - what does everyone think of it?

Hey all,

I've got the 2003 edition of the Kaplan LSAT Book (I don't think it has any special title, really).

I've just started to use it these past few days........ what does everyone think of this thing???

Law School Applications / Volunteer work.... with the church???

Hey all,

I really need to get some extracurriculars on my resume. Lately I've been thinking about doing some volunteer work with my friendly neighborhood Catholic church.

Now, I'm not particularly religious, but I figure this seems like a good as place as any. I reckon this will help me get my foot in the door at a few jesuit schools (Boston College, Georgetown, and maybe Fordham)... but will this type of work be positively regarded by schools which are non-affiliated, or affiliated with different churches (i.e. Duke and Emory are both methodist)??

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Hey all,

In the link below, when the Princeton review states that Emory has a "Placement Rate" of 98%, are they refering to placements for summer associates?

Somone please have a look at this and let me know whats up.

Law School Applications / How to Calculate my GPA

Hey all,

I'm just curious if there is any standard method of calculating GPA that American law schools use.

My school uses the following:

90-100 A 4
80-89 B 3
70-79 C 2
60-69 D 1
0-59 F 0

But, I'm told this is non-standard.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Where should I go next fall? / University of Southern California

Hey all,

I'm really interested in this school, and am wondering if anyone can give me a bit of info about it.

Specifically, I'd like to know about the quality of the professors, the atmosphere.... etc. The type of things that they don't put up on their website, and that don't show up in law school rankings.

Anyway, any info is greatly appreciated.
